That's why 40 years ago every gas station had at least one if not more duty mechanics. I grew up in a very small, 6000 residents.
When I was a child there were 7 service stations on Main Street and others in town and most families had one vehicle. Now there are only two places that sell gas.
Newer cars need almost no servicing for the first 100,000 miles. Before WWII, car engines needed to be rebuilt every 20,000 miles, now some engines last for a million miles.
