since i'm not swiss, i'm not an expert on their government........what I do know is that the 17th killed most state representation and eliminating the EC will do the rest of the job. you say it's not true, but that would be wrong. the fly over states will have very little representation except in the house..........and that won't amount to crap
Well any research on the Swiss cantons will show you that Switzerland is extremely decentralized. The point of the federal government is to protect the country from outside threats, handle public health pandemics, and mediate issues between cantons. Virtually everything else is handled at the canton level, which is what I want for America.
And I don't see how eliminating the EC would eliminate states' rights.

This is a result of increasing partisan divide, which you can blame people like Trump for.
And by the way, you said that this was an example of Liberals trying to destroy America. Do you have any data that shows Liberals support states' rights less than Conservatives do? Conservatives claim they do, but they don't in practice.

roe v wade for one...............both sides like to ignore states rights in favor of federal power for their ideologies.......liberals want federal enforcement for abortion rights, conservatives want federal enforcement to prevent abortion........that's why I said both sides are tearing it apart.

Look at Shays rebellion. Look at the Whiskey rebellion.
The Founders never really lived up to their own ideals, but I respect what they did in terms of normalizing left-wing ideas and bringing the world closer to freedom.

But the Left isn't really doing that. The Right has been trying to eliminate democratic elections by supporting Trump's Fascism.
I agree that the Left hasn't been great on states' rights either, but when it comes to who is actually trying to overturn American Democracy, it's really just the Right. Anything else is both sidesing.
