the senate was selected by state legislatures, as intended by the founders so that states could maintain their sovereignty. the 17th Amendment took away state representation and eliminating the EC will kill them completely. That's destroying the republic.

The Founding Father's didn't have any intentions of letting Black & Brown people as voting citizens.

I have no issues with state rights.

For example my New York should not have to pay a dime in Federal taxes for the dingy Scottish barbarians down South.

Great. No more New York money paying for Southern welfare, benefits, militarism & war.

if we had the 17th Amendment, that might happen...........but your uber powerful federal government wants your money and your states money........too bad NY doesn't have any state representation to stop it.

That's just not true. Other countries don't have the equivalence of an EC and they still have regional governments. Switzerland has more Direct Democracy than America and is more decentralized. Direct Democracy didn't kill the Swiss cantons.

since i'm not swiss, i'm not an expert on their government........what I do know is that the 17th killed most state representation and eliminating the EC will do the rest of the job. you say it's not true, but that would be wrong. the fly over states will have very little representation except in the house..........and that won't amount to crap
