In the 1500s Poland pretty much had the same level of Democratic voting rights, and Freedom of religion without slavery by the state.

then you hate the founders and their vision for america. the founders created representation for the states through the senate. the founders feared an overbearing central government and wanted their own states interests protected. the 17th took that away
