EV doesn't represent Trump voters. They are not all the same. There are some stupid people within the group just as there are stupid people who voted against Trump or simply did not bother to even vote.

To pretend that the intelligence of some typifies that of all in a group is stereotyping.

I personally know some Trump supporters quite well, and I do not think THEY are stupid. These are very good people whom I've know for far longer than 2016. I was very surprised to hear that they voted for Trump and then ADMITTED it! And I've been able to have discussions with them in which they explained why they voted for him. I believe I have reached a fairly accurate understanding of it. Here's my assessment:

The dumbest Trump voters actually thought Trump would do a good job, and everybody would then learn how great he is, and grow to love him. They believed he was far more popular than he really was.

The smarter Trump voters were more voting AGAINST Hillary than FOR Trump. They also cited the Supreme Court.

He would have lost to Obama's 332 electoral votes in 2012.

He would have been TOASTED in 2008 against Obama's 365 electoral votes.

He CONSIDERED running in 2004, but that never even got OFF THE GROUND.

He actually did run for President in 2000 but he was polling so badly against AL GORE and W that he DROPPED OUT.

Citing the Supreme Court doesn't say much for their intelligence. So far, Trump seems to be picking candidates based on loyalty to him rather than actual qualifications.

Tell me why your so-called "conservative friends" are bemoaning their votes for Trump - especially when considering the alternative.
 
Most of my righty friends are shocked by how incompetent and wrong Trump is. Most of them regret voting for that blowhard. There are a few who show no ability to absorb facts about what he has done. But they showed that trait when they voted for him. Hillary would have done a far better job. She actually knows how to govern and how the system works.
