A lie? How can the actions of men make a lie out of the truth? Simply because this society "chooses" to endorse slavery does not make the truth that "All men are created equal".....a lie. Either you agree with the statement or you don't...…..your choice does not make the statement a lie. Clearly you do not believe nor accept the concept that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, which reveals a great deal about you....not the underlaying truth in the statement.
Simply because society "BY MAJORITY" supported slavery (that fact allowed slavery to be LEGAL in this republic)….does not negate the truth in the statement. Either that statement is true....or it never was true in the past, present or future...…..as TRUTH does not evolve...that which was true 2000 years ago is just as true today....or it was never true in the 1st place. The founding principles of this nation ALLOWED for an evolving society......allowed the Standard of all law (the US CONSTITUTION) to evolve along with society, that's why its called a living breathing document.....changes can be made, but only via a Super Majority Ratified AMENDMENT. Society evolved and the Constitution evolved along with society when the 13th amendment to the Constitution was ratified by THE PEOPLE/STATES. The truth...….all men are created equal never changed, it was constant as all truth is...………………….
Truth is not established by personal opinion (there are no PRIVATE TRUTHS)…...the truth is the same for everyone or it never was true. Why do reason and logic always escape the minds of supposed liberals?

Question with this logic or the lack thereof? If the statement you made is true......why did the state of Maryland (one of the largest slave holding states) not join the southern states when LINCOLN was elected?
Truth: Slavery was not made ILLEGAL during the 1st LINCOLN administration (slavery was still legal and taxable in the state of Maryland)......LINCOLN used the proclamation (and slavery) as a hot button Campaign slogan to gain re-election and a 2nd administration. Slavery existed as a legal and taxable industry in the United States of America from 1776 through 1865.....years after the civil war began....the northern state of Maryland was still a slave holding state....and the existing laws concerning runaway slaves was still enforced under federal interstate law until 1865. Slaves in both the north and the south were treated as nothing but PROPERTY. Example...….if one your cattle bearing your brand strayed into a neighboring field owned by another you could not claim the property as free range and claim it.
That's the simple truth...…...the 2nd revolution was never about slavery (as slavery could never have existed void of majority approval in this republic)…….the revolution called the civil war was indeed fought over STATES RIGHTS v. FEDERAL RIGHTS. The only one's to actually lose the civil war? THE PEOPLE who had their states rights revoked by FORCE. Both the north and the south lost a great deal in that conflict...….many people attempt to re-write history, but the truth is always there with the revised lies easily debunked. Its the first example of politicians using the RACE CARD to benefit their political agenda.
