Take a look at the Dano thread, and take good note of the fact that not one lousy conservative, or "not a republican" libertarians peeped one word about Dano's outrageous usage of blackface.

In fact, it was roundly and hotly defended, mostly by the Libertarians, the Republicans being too scared to say anything one way or the other, registering their opinion with their silence.

You know why you're considered the party of racists? Cause you are. Wear it with pride, ya earned it. Don't forget to slap your mascot, DAno, on the ass on your way out. Way to go boy.

Blackface, lynchings, Amos and Andy, the confederate flag, jim crow - all this and more have a history and context that go far beyond, and far deeper than some silly skit about a black man dressing up as a white woman on a TV show.

I don't pretend to be an expert on racism. But, I sure can tell the difference between a historical and demonstrably deregatory tool of institutional racism, and some random Television skit.

I really don't think a lot of people have the experience, the education, or the knowledge of what institutional racism really is.
