well now that we are putting on our serious hats, I would say it depends. I don't mind working with other nations so long as they know it's really just for show, and that ultimately we are the baddest mofos around.

like the united nations.. that's literally just role playing a bunch of dumbshit no one cares about. We dont need the u.n.s permission for anything.

Grind is wrong. The Iran nuclear agreement kept Iran quiet and they were not building nukes. Trump rashly and stupidly withdrew. The treaty was so respected all the other signees that is stood for more than a year. So trump sanctioned the shit out of them. The ME was far better off with it. Trump.like Bush said. is the chaos president. He makes a mess wherever he goes. This whole conflict falls on Trump's shoulders.
Now the idiot wants NATO to help make a new treaty. Who does he think did it last time?. You can be sure Trump would include Russia this time.
Who would agree to a treaty with Trump? Who could trust him to not just walk away again? The real problem is , has Trump destroyed the entire concept of international pacts and treaties? What do they mean if you could just walk away if you felt like it ?
I will respect a treaty until I shoot a bad score at Mira Lago and then I may be pissed and change my mind.

Sure, but we don't really gain anything from having the rest of the world hating us. And if the Overton Window shifts in a way that we're all ok with our president committing foreign war crimes, it won't take long for the government to start committing domestic war crimes.

If the UN is not needed and not useful, why do we stay in it? Why have a show? How can you be a hyper nationalist and not support a rules based order
of global reach? If you believe in sovereign nation states, that sovereignty, it follows, must be based upon equality, unless you believe in a global law of the jungle
