Why I Left the Republican Party! THE SOUTHERN STRATEGY

They didn't move, but when the Republicans embraced Goldwater, they changed their strategy to get voters. They started appealing to White Separatists. This drove Blacks out of the RNC. The Democrats, in an attempt to get the black voters, started fighting against segregation. In the follow years, new politicians joined the RNC if they were pro-segregation, or the DNC if they were anti-segregation. This is why the Republicans win the states that fought for segregation, and the Democrats are the racially diverse party.

Keep in mind, I believe in segregation. I'm not trying to smear either party here, just trying to be accurate.

sorry, you're just another fucking idiot on the left who won't admit the truth.......

Jeez! Listening to Lee Atwater, it's no small wonder he begged for forgiveness on his deathbed. And who knew that Trump, Roger Stone and Paul Manafort went back that far and hung with Atwater.

I left the Republican Party for good circa 1991. I belatedly realized the modern Republican Party attracts a lot of racists, and I gradually became aware that the fancy economic theories dreamed up in the Austrian School and rightwing think tanks were really just thinly disguised excuses to reduce the tax liability on the wealthy, and prevent "undeserving" people (usually of a brown skin tone) from having access to free "handouts"

we all agree that you have your meme catechism well memorized.......the problem you face is we all know you're lying......Maddox didn't move.......Faustus didn't move.......Byrd didn't move.........Lyndon Johnson didn't move......the anti-black southern leaders stayed right where they were......they didn't think like I do.....they thought like demmycunts throughout history.......in truth, like you, they don't think......

Nobody agrees with such a childish response like yours. The fact is the Maddoxes of the south did not leave the Reds, they just made it possible for the Southern Dems to move to the rich white man's party. They did and they found a home in the minority demonizing, pro rich white man party that is the Republicans.
When LBJ pushed the Voting Rights act through he said we have lost the south for a generation. It turned out much longer than that. The former southern Dems have been solid red since 1965.

Blacks began their support of Democrats before Goldwater. In the 1940's blacks were about evenly divided between the two parties. The black shift toward Democrats first started about 1934, increased under Truman, and increased further because of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. But by 1964 Democrats were already 80% Democratic.

Yeah, there were always black Democrats. It's never talked about in the media, but lots of free Blacks owned slaves, fought in the Confederacy, and were fine with segregation. However, most Blacks were against segregation, which is why Goldwater drove so many of them to the DNC.

As I stated earlier, 80% of blacks already identified as Democrats by the time Goldwater came along in 1964. And, segregation had been declared unconstitutional in 1954 although not implemented. And it was probably due more to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that increased that support rather than anything Goldwater did. Although opposite sides of the same coin he did not really champion segregation and had supported some civil rights legislation.

Blacks, like most Americans, became Democratic during the New Deal. 1932 was a realigning election that give the Democrats domination of the presidency, House, Senate, and most state offices from 1932 until about the 1960s at the presidential level and 1990's for Congress.

dear fucking racist idiot

your bullshit take on history says that black American voters left the republican party because the Democratic party started offering them goodies

Thanks for proving you idiot racists don't make sense

fuck you very much

LOL I love how you attempt to insult me, was that supposed to be a distraction or red herring so I wouldnt notice the fact that you cant challenge me on the merits of my case?

And I wont be the one burning in hell for eternity. That'd be you.

No it was being stopped from holding blacks down. You are repeating right-wing revisionism. The Reuplicunts were the natural home of segregationists and haters. Do you remember Little Rock?

Reality proves that the demoncrats are the racists. Sure you can provide an outlier case pointing to Republicans but the systemic racism is all demoncrat. From opposing the emancipation proclamation to purposely mandating that welfare recipients could not have an adult Male in the home. The later purposely added knowing that it would break black family units apart insuring that blacks never gain wealth and thus move up and into white demoncrats neighborhoods. You can spout tripe and demonrat talking points but that doesn't override historical facts.

You can cuss and call names but your point is in fact contrary to history. Demoncrats were the anti black party and still are. From opposing the emancipation proclamation to welfare laws designed purposely to break apart black families to slick willy's crackdown on crack cocaine dealers. Hell you had a KKK grand dragon in the senate till the 80's.

The demoncrats have been whoring out political gifts for votes for decades. Keeping the dependance while spouting how evil racist the other side is. All for a voter base these days and to keep blacks down in the old days.

Did we find another leftist revisionist? Yes we did.

Fact: The Republican Party was founded primarily to oppose slavery, and Republicans eventually abolished slavery. The Democratic Party fought them and tried to maintain and expand slavery. The 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, passed in 1865 with 100% Republican support but only 23% Democrat support in congress.

Following the epic civil rights struggles of the 1960s, the South began a major demographic shift from Democratic to Republican dominance. Many believe that this shift was motivated by racism. While it is certainly true that many Southern racists abandoned the Democratic Party over its new support for racial equality and integration, the notion that they would flock to the Republican Party -- which was a century ahead of the Democrats on those issues -- makes no sense whatsoever.

Contrary to popular misconception, the parties never "switched" on racism. The Democrats just switched from overt racism to a subversive strategy of getting blacks as dependent as possible on government to secure their votes. At the same time, they began a cynical smear campaign to label anyone who opposes their devious strategy as greedy racists.

Every political party has its racists, but the notion that Republicans are more racist than Democrats or any other party is based on nothing more than a constant drumbeat of unsubstantiated innuendo and assertions by Leftists, constantly echoed by the liberal media. It is a classic example of a Big Lie that becomes "true" simply by virtue of being repeated so many times.

Boom!
