It is to me whether it still exists for others or not. I will never return to facebook. I get the impulse some times, but resist. The people I want to keep in touch with I keep up with by text/telephone/email. God speed to the others.

But then you will miss those picts of what your friends had for lunch, what their cat is wearing & the stupid misquotes/lies aka quotes they repost & never bother to check it~if it has any basis in fact/reality.....(:

Facebook is a good source for news well before it hits the media. For instance if there is a death in a local factory, you can find out the name way ahead of it being released. Comes in handy when you know a lot of people in that factory. When Sandy Hook happened, a friend of mine was living in Newtown (but has since moved) so I knew more from what he was posting ahead of them being reported as well, including there was already confusion about who the shooter was between two brothers before the name ever got out in the press.
