Why isn't Trump getting Dixie Chicked?

LMAO... again... I love how you ignore that no one is forced to buy ditzie chick products. If the ditzie chicks wish to go political, it is the Ditzie Chicks that are risking alienating their audience. It is the decision of the ditzie chicks, not the audience, that potentially impacts their economic situation. That is the point that you are so incapable of grasping.

What you are suggesting is that the ditzie chicks should be able to say whatever they want with no impact on their sales. The stupidity of that comment fits you perfectly.

Once again - and I've said this a lot - no issue whatsoever w/ an individual making a decision to stop listening to & purchasing anything by the Chicks.

I had problems w/ the organized boycotts of their music. I have problems with boycotts in general, unless there is a very specific action that they're trying to get a company or group to stop or change.

There is no doubt at all that a boycott is intimidation. It's really the purpose of most boycotts.

LMAO... so as individuals and stations they are all ok in your book to do so, but if they dare raise their voice as a group then it is bad???

Fucking hilarious.

To me, it's a ham-handed approach to free speech, and again - the point isn't to get new ideas out there. It's not to persuade through the power of your own ideas. It's to shut people up, and take ideas out of the marketplace.

You're just not getting it. You won't. You probably would if the target was some warmongering Bush supporter.

I can accept that argument. If you're marketing something, you have to think about your audience.

And again - I don't really have a problem w/ individual choice to stop listening to them. How could I? It's personal choice.

But I still have a problem w/ the boycotts & general intimidation.

So all the groups and companies that said they were going to boycott AZ over MLK Day, were a problem for you!!

It's funny how USF thinks he's finding "gotchas" with boycotts where he has no idea how I felt or what I said.

Just projection. Hacks tend to think everyone else is a hack.

What you are saying is that people who used their first amendment right to gather and speak out were "bad".

I again will state the Dixie Chicks brought that storm on themselves by deciding to go political. Worse, it may have just been a quick statement in passing. While banking on a specific audience to pay attention to you, say something off the top of your head and suddenly you've alienated your basis of financial windfall. Instead of apologizing you decide to insist that others respect your rights.... That's fine, but there is still the reality of the customer, the audience....

Okay, say what you will but your fans aren't willing to listen any longer. Now that you've gone political your audience changes, you try to make a go reaching that new audience, but it doesn't work nearly as well. They're a byline in history because they didn't pay attention to the customer. Business rule number one...

I don't feel sorry for them. They still made millions on those people, they aren't out scavenging trash for food. Yeah they feel "victimized", but the reality is they did this to themselves.

Now your OP is interesting. Why isn't there more backlash for Trump? I don't think republicans as a whole are his audience.

What's even funnier is you whining about how the Dixie Tricks were "boycotted" and you disagree with it; but if the liberals boycott something, it's acceptable. :D

Amazing, isn't it? All those years ago, the Dixie Chicks were hit by a tornado from the right when they dared to question the Iraq War. They were effectively ostracized from the country music establishment, boycotted, condemned as traitors and even received death threats.

Now, the Republican FRONTRUNNER openly says that the Iraq War was a huge mistake, and even takes it a step further to imply that Bush was to blame for 9/11. And many of the same group who lambasted the Dixie Chicks are tripping over themselves to support him.

Things that make you go hmmmm....

this is not proof of you being antiwar before the war

They forgive him because he is perceived by them to be a racist. Racists protect their own over everything else.
