Why isn't Trump getting Dixie Chicked?

You do realize that was 13 years ago. Apples/oranges.

With regard to the point of the OP - it absolutely is.

You're doing your usual boring Yurt "gotcha" thing. Try to win an argument on actual merits, war lover.

You're obsessed with this Yurt poster, why?

You conceded that in fact the nation's mood and opinion about the Iraq war are different, after initially saying there was no difference.

LMFAO.

Winning!

And does that excuse how wrong they were in '03?

Man, things really fly at a comfortable altitude above your head. It's why I said it doesn't lead to the conclusion you think it does above.

And you're Yurt, or just like him. Same faulty logic & focus on the minutiae. Try to think for a change.

Like I said - I'm glad former pro-war righties have woken up & realized how tragically wrong they were. It's part of the point of the OP.

Clearly, it's difficult to get through the barriers of denial pro-war lunatics like you & SF had and have.

Why did you say it made no difference then? If you concede that many on the right have changed their mind about the Iraq war, then why would there be the same level of outrage when there is not the same level of support for Bush or the Iraq war?

According to bar stool Billy, I'm Legion Troll. :dunno:

Because it doesn't make a difference to me. Like I said - I'm glad you crazy fools came around. But I'll never forget the vitriol leveled at me, the Chicks & every other anti-war protester. I won't forget being called a traitor & terrorist-sympathizer. It's why it's so ironic to me that the Republican FRONTRUNNER is basically a Code Pink guy when it comes to Bush & the war, and it makes no difference to all of the folks who marginalized me & my "ilk" and sought to silence us.

Now it's all, "huh? What? Oh...THAT war? You're still talking about that?" Screw all y'all. I'll never forget, and most on my side won't.

I'll try and dumb this down for you.

I said there is a difference between today and then and that is why you don't see the same level of outrage. Apples/oranges.

You said, there is no difference.

You then said, yes, there is a difference.

I said, thanks for making my point.

You said, no, it still makes no difference to me.

:rofl2:

This is kind of interesting. You can't even say how you stood on the invasion of Iraq.

Foolishness was invading. I knew that at the time - a lot of lefties did.

And many constitutionalists as well... although I do not blame "bad" people on what happened to the Dixie Chicks, they did it to themselves. They didn't consider how their words might affect their fan base and their ability to continue in their chosen career based on that reaction. If you want to run a business selling music to a specific fan base you need to take their opinion into account.

I can accept that argument. If you're marketing something, you have to think about your audience.

And again - I don't really have a problem w/ individual choice to stop listening to them. How could I? It's personal choice.

But I still have a problem w/ the boycotts & general intimidation.

They were simply expressing an opinion as well. Equally first Amendment. The surprise form the Chicks after insulting their own fan base was astounding to me. They don't live in a vacuum and were quite literally banking on the fact that these people payed attention to them.

I personally remain unaffected by it, I was not a fan before that statement and wasn't going to become one because of the statement.

No one tried to silence you. If you quit running your mouth, it was by choice.

Did you protest the war after Obama became President?

Isn't a boycott part of the 1st amendment?

I've been against every war in my lifetime. I'm even against the next war. I don't care who is President.

I'm not a party-first hack like you.

I never even said that those who boycotted "shouldn't be allowed." More flailing.

I just think it's lame to try to shut someone up. As I've said many times, if you don't like an opinion, offer one that's better. Persuade others w/ your ideas; don't just seek to shut others down.

LMAO... all you are attempting here is to shut down their voice. YOU AGAIN fail to understand WHAT they were protesting and the MESSAGE they were conveying. Either that or you simply don't like it and thus dismiss it. You can tell us which it is.

It's pretty basic. But you support the kind of intimidation & fear tactics that all of those pro-war fools used. Like I said, we might have been better off had we let more of those anti-war voices speak out, and didn't try to marginalize them & shut them down.

LMAO... again... speaking out against a comment someone else made is NOT intimidation. Stating 'I won't buy something or listen to someone' is not intimidation.

You'll never get it, unfortunately. You're even reduced to agreeing w/ Yurt.

the above shows just how desperate you are to defend your previous stupidity.

I love how you think that an economic boycott - trying to take down someone's very livelihood - isn't intimidating.

All we need to know.

LMAO... again... I love how you ignore that no one is forced to buy ditzie chick products. If the ditzie chicks wish to go political, it is the Ditzie Chicks that are risking alienating their audience. It is the decision of the ditzie chicks, not the audience, that potentially impacts their economic situation. That is the point that you are so incapable of grasping.

What you are suggesting is that the ditzie chicks should be able to say whatever they want with no impact on their sales. The stupidity of that comment fits you perfectly.
