Why the U.S. Economy Is Trouncing Europe’s

Again I totally hear you, but this piece wasn't about partisan politics per se in America or Europe. Our (risk taking) culture has been forged through multiple Presidents (and Congress's) of each party.

I posted it because it's interesting to see the comparison and because we have people in America who would prefer we were more like Europe economically. Somehow this turned into a Trump thing which is not what the article is about.
More like Europe ... how often have I heard that? Not just economically either. I have always said I'd fight tooth and nail not to me "more like Europe" ... in a lot of ways.

To the OP, I think the gist of the article as to why we've done so well is spot on. Imagine coming to the Mississippi River in the westward expansion and having the adventurous spirit to think about crossing it...and then the guts to do it. Risk takers founded and settled this country. Now a bunch of us want to quash that attitude.

You're spot on LR. And this is over the past 50 years (the U.S. dominating). It's not like we don't have challenges ahead of us because we certainly do, big ones, but Europe has huge demographic issues including an aging population along with slow growth. They are facing serious headwinds.

I can picture the arguments people would make to say life is still better in Europe, economy aside. But no one has chimed in yet.

Let's not forget that the two biggest EU member nations are in turmoil these days.

No doubt, but countries like Venezuela and others have tremendous natural resources too. It's all about what you do with them. The article emphasized America's risk taking culture, which leads to more innovation and ultimately higher growth compared to Europe.
Very true but Energy powers the US industrial engine.

As the Dems said, Biden did a great job of fixing the economy and lowering inflation. Trump will happily fuck that up. History shows the Reds are bad for the economy, but great for the super-rich. The Dems always fix Repub messes. Biden fixed Trump's. Obama fixed Bush's . How badly will Trump explode it this time?

Trump will give US Treasury to himself and friends. Probably a recession, at best.

Clearly you didn't read the article but even based on what's being said in the headline, where is this response coming from? Such a weird way to troll.

We can only hope it is just a recession, hopefully NOT a deep one , but It could be a deep one or even go into a depression.
Tariffs as big as Trump is talking don't do anybody any good .
People have to remember it is the CONSUMER that ends up paying them NOT the exporting country.
This could turn into a really big shit show.

Like Reagan. Borrow money to make it look like he created prosperity.

Another mystifying comment. Make up yourmind nordie. If the economy is bad it is not good for anybody.
