A classical libertarian operate under the ideology of the supremacy of individual liberties and in a Constitutional republic that defended those liberties. Classical libertarians understand fiat currency as the powerful human invention that separates humans from all other species and makes economies possible, enabling the greatest wonder of the world, i.e. free markets.
A modern libertarian, however, operates under the ideology of the supremacy of anarchy, and in the urgent need to abolish all government/military/police as infringements upon human liberty. Modern libertarians are total dumbasses who cannot grasp economics, who stupidly think that fiat currency is evil and should somehow be abolished. Modern libertarians are virtually insdistinguishable from Marxist anarchists.
