Trump’s victory could mean US withdraws support for Ukraine in war with Russia

With the reelection of Donald Trump, Ukraine may soon have to adjust to a dramatic reduction in US support that could have a decisive impact on the war with Russia.

Throughout his campaign, the Republican president-elect and his running mate, JD Vance, have cast strong doubts on continued US commitment to Kyiv as the war drags on more than two and half years after Russian forces invaded. Moreover, Trump has made comments that suggest the US could pressure Ukraine into an uneasy truce with Russia.

Trump’s victory comes at a precarious moment in the conflict for Kyiv. Russia has steadily been making gains in the eastern Donbas region, which Russian President Vladimir Putin aims to capture in full

This, as is predictable about most of your posts, will not age well. :palm:

Exactly. Trump voters don't give a shit about Ukraine, and abandoning Ukraine to the Russian invaders is exactly what Trump supporters voted for.
I am amused how leftists, who never cared about Ukraine or what happened there, particularly when Obama/Biden allowed Russia to occupy the Crimea with zero resistance, now suddenly care so much. Why is that?

Russia, a nation a hundred times that of Ukraine, has been unsuccessful in moving the needle very much for over two years and going on three.

Unlike Biden, Trump will end this war, and the two parties engaged will work with him. I wish Biden was that smart. We probably wouldn't be seeing billions being wasted and hundreds of thousands of lives thrown away.

You voted to abandon Ukraine. Trump has been crystal clear that he is not interested in supporting a vigorous defense of Ukraine. He has never vigorously criticized Putin or Russia's invasion

Why are Trump supporters suddenly acting ashamed of the policies they voted for?

There’s a paywall here but it’s a pretty good article from The Economist.
(I subscribe to The Economist)

Part of how it works is that Trump will continue his weakening of NATO. This is why Putin was happy with Trump and didn't invade Ukraine while Trump was in office. Trump was doing a great job of destabilizing NATO.

Ultimately Putin needs NATO to be weaker. So he'll let Trump do whatever is needed to get that and he'll get all of Ukraine that he wants so that we can have "peace in our time".

The real downside (other than handing Vlad what he wants directly) is that it will cause repercussions with our treaty partners who count on us to be the real backstop. We've decided that we don't agree with what they stand for so we are going to cut them loose. We'll have a new partner in Putin.

You voted to abandon Ukraine.

Lie, lame and retarded. Do you ever read the stupid tripe you post before hitting the send key?

Trump has been crystal clear that he is not interested in supporting a vigorous defense of Ukraine.

Another very dumb lie. He's not interested in supporting people murdering each other in meaningless and endless wars. If you would clean out the shit in your ears, you could hear better and comprehend what is being said instead of parroting the ignorant lunatic bullshit you get from MSNBC.

Is that you Joe Scarborough??

He has never vigorously criticized Putin or Russia's invasion

He has vigorously criticized Biden's handling of the war. meanwhile, you clapping seals and lapdogs on the left demand he blow more taxpayer money with absolutely NOTHING to show for it.

Weren't you one of the morons blathering about exist strategies during the Iraq and Afghan war?

Why are Trump supporters suddenly acting ashamed of the policies they voted for?

Another laughably stupid strawmen scarecrow. Ironic when Kamala voters don't think they should be ashamed for being so fucking clueless and stupid.

Putie is demanding Trump earn his respect!

I wonder if this is what Trump thought would happen with all his non presidential talks with Putie.

Do you ever get tired of looking like a clueless uninformed mentally challenged dumbass?

That was rhetorical. :palm:
