Ukraine does not have enough fighting age men to continue this fight for years and years. As much as I hate to say it a negotiated peace is the only realistic solution

No, it is based on actual history of the West/NATO letting down Russia who had disbanded the Warsaw Pact released all those small nations Stalin had gobbled up even letting go of a couple large regions that have been part of Russia for centuries of Ukraine and Kazakhstan to have their own independence.

He was being pushed into the corner as NATO was surrounding the West end of Russia right up to the border taking away the security buffer between Russia and Europe while Ukraine was being built up militarily developing fortress cities and have Ukraine be included into NATO, the West wanted to start a war using Ukraine in a PROXY war setting, in their bid to wear down Russia.

The real question needs to be asked why NATO continued to exist when their existence was no longer needed but Russia accepted it up to the point of Germany reunification and the many nations pledge not to expand anymore nations into NATO from that point on.

Russia was a mess economically and militarily for decades after the collapse of the USSR in 1991, yet the West paranoia remained.

Your defense of Russia is admirable. I'm retired military as was my dad and my brother. I followed the Soviet Union, Reagan's successful toppling of them to end the Cold War, Russia's attempt at democracy and their falling back into a dictatorship then Putin attacking former satellite states.

I fail to see why any American would stand with Russia against their own country.

Neville Chamberlain should be recognised more for his singular achievement in buying time for the UK to build up its defences, especially with regards to fighters like the Hurricane and Spitfire and the Chain Home radar network.
Churchill wanted to build up the bomber fleet at the expense of fighters, luckily Chamberlain prevailed and there were enough fighters to ward off Goering's Lufwaffe in the Battle of Britain.
