WTF is a "climate team"?

If you build a climate team - climate change will come?

Climate change has always been, redistrubuting wealth in the name of it is something of the UN.
Total bullshit. The weather changes, so wealth redistribution. Bullshit!

climate is always changing. trying to be carbon neutral (WTF is that about burning wood pellets instead of nat gas?)
is a losing proposition in a world with increasing energy needs.

The focus should be on protecting the worlds carbon sinks (Amazon / oceans etc) from degraded to the point
they cant function to recycle free carbon molecules

but there no money or power in conservation

.
Total bullshit, they've even brought back that fucking disaster Gina McCarthy.

Biden’s Climate Plan Would Punish Household Budgets, Lacks Voter Support

Joe Biden pledges to spend $2 trillion on his climate plan during his first term. Divided among America’s 120 million households, that puts the average American household on the hook for $17,000 – or more than $4,000 per household per year – in additional spending burdens.

Biden’s nominee for Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellin, proposes to add a carbon dioxide tax – on top of Biden’s $2 trillion in direct government spending – that would start at $40 per ton, and increase by a hefty 5 percent each year. The left-of-center Brookings Institution calculates that such a plan would add an initial 36 cents to the price of gasoline. It would also add an additional 20-percent hike to consumer electricity bills.

Yellin’s carbon dioxide tax would not only saddle consumers with large direct increases in gasoline and electricity prices, it would also punish consumers by raising costs for goods and services throughout the economy, with those higher costs showing up in higher consumer prices. As the Brookings Institution notes, “Higher energy prices would raise costs for industry and households, resulting in lower profits, wages, and consumption.” That also translates to higher unemployment and lower living standards.

It clear that Biden has no voter mandate to impose such draconian and expensive policies on the American people. On November 1 – just two days before the 2020 election – the New York Times published a poll showing only 37 percent of Americans are “very concerned” about climate change. That is less than the 39 percent of Americans who are either “not at all” concerned or “not too” concerned about climate change. The remaining 21 percent are merely “somewhat” concerned.

Those Americans who are “somewhat concerned” about climate change do not support spending more than a few dollars per month, at the most, on climate change programs. A 2019 Associated Press poll found less than half of Americans would pay even $10 per month to address climate change. Barely more than half of Americans (57 percent) would be willing to pay as little as a single dollar per month.

Ultimately, Joe Biden’s proposed climate plan is tremendously expensive, economically disastrous, and lacking the support of the American people. There are many reasons why Biden accumulated the number of votes he did in the November election, but aggressive climate activism is not one of them.

A climate team is a group of leaders in the admin who coordinate their various departments and responsibilities to help clean up the environment. Very important work indeed.

PC bullshit you mean, but you've never ever demonstrated any grasp on scientific or engineering issues. This is very reminiscent of the Soviet Union five year plans which almost invariably failed.

The answer is to go flat out for natural gas, 4th gen. nuclear, hydrogen and ammonia. But the dozy fuckers that have been voted in are bedazzled by wind and solar. Making the US even more beholden to the Chinese not less. They have all the rare earths, most of the cobalt, nickel and much of the lithium. People like you are horizontal thinkers, lateral thinking is totally alien to idiots like you!

President-elect Joe Biden formally introduced his climate team on Saturday, saying that the people he has selected will lead his administration's "ambitious plan to address the existential threat of our time, climate change."

Biden announced his intention to nominate Rep. Deb Haaland, D-N.M., to serve as secretary of the interior; former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm to head the Department of Energy; Michael Regan as EPA administrator; Brenda Mallory as chair of the Council on Environmental Quality; Gina McCarthy as national climate adviser; and Ali Zaidi as deputy national climate adviser.

All told, the members of the team that Biden announced on Saturday illustrate an agenda markedly different from that of the Trump presidency.

The Trump administration has gutted a number of environmental protections and the president himself has questioned climate science.
The president-elect and his incoming team have made clear that they plan to try to undo or block many of the Trump administration's initiatives, as well as to prioritize communities of color and low-income communities, which have been disproportionately impacted by climate change and pollution.

During his remarks, Biden compared the climate threat to that of the coronavirus pandemic, and promised to take action.

"Just like we need a unified national response to COVID-19, we need a unified national response to climate change," he said. "We need to meet the moment with the urgency it demands as we would during any national emergency."

Biden also stressed the diversity of his emerging Cabinet, describing it as "a Cabinet that looks like America, that taps into the best of America, that opens doors and includes the full range of talents that we have in this nation."

If confirmed by the Senate, Haaland, a member of the Laguna Pueblo, would be the first Native American to lead the Interior Department. The agency has responsibility for not only managing the nation's public lands, but also honoring the United States' treaties with the Indigenous peoples from whom those lands were taken.

"This moment is profound when we consider the fact that a former secretary of the interior once proclaimed his goal to 'civilize or exterminate us,' " Haaland said in her remarks. "I'm a living testament to the failure of that horrific ideology."

Haaland is not the only member of the climate team that would break barriers. Regan, Biden's pick to run the Environmental Protection Agency, would be the first Black man to hold that role. And Mallory, whom Biden will nominate to head up the Council on Environmental Quality, will be the first Black person to hold that position, if she is confirmed by the Senate.

It is the Church of Global Warming being confirmed as a state religion, in violation of the 1st amendment.

I believe that it's a team assembled to address the most important issue of our day.

And it is. Without a healthy, sustainable planet, everything else is meaningless.

Define 'climate change'. This is a meaningless buzzword phrase.
Define 'global warming'. This is a meaningless buzzword phrase.

It is not possible to measure the temperature of the Earth, nor the global atmospheric CO2 content. We don't have anywhere near enough instrumentation to even begin a sensible statistical analysis of this type. The margin of error is too high, and there is no unbiased data.

Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm to head the Department of Energy makes me think there is going to be a strong push for Detroit to 'Go Electric'.
Why let China take the lead in this?

"China Is Winning the Race to Dominate Electric Cars"
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/a...ectric-vehicle-market-so-far-belongs-to-china

Electric cars are essentially coal fired cars. You gotta charge 'em from somewhere, like a nearby coal fired power plant, and recharging the car takes hours, while refueling a gasoline car takes only a few minutes.

There is no such thing as 'climate science'. Science has no theories about what cannot be defined.

Biden has to win first.

It's simpler than that. Manipulation of markets by government is fascism. That includes the energy markets.
The focus should be on protecting the worlds carbon sinks (Amazon / oceans etc) from degraded to the point
they cant function to recycle free carbon molecules
Why do you hate carbon dioxide? It's not capable of warming the Earth.
but there no money or power in conservation
There actually is. Capitalism is the creation of wealth. Where it flourishes, there are cleaner, more efficient, and cheaper ways of doing things.
