Your children only need two dolls!

Trump is advocating austerity for the average person so that the wealthy can get their huge tax cuts. This is Trump telling us our standard of living will sink while the wealthy get more. You cannot defend 30 dolls or 250 pencils. Those do not exist. Trump has no idea how other people live. He is showing again how far out of touch he is.
He is building a different America with the masses living in financial fear. It is another Gilded Age.
People afraid of the government will be easier to control. You have to be afraid of someone as dumb and dangerous as Trump.

I'm talking more about the concept that it doesn't matter if it's affordability or availability - Trump's policies are having a negative impact on what people can purchase.
I have yet to see that, though I do believe that they could. I have stated several different times on this board that I dislike Tariffs and their use as a "tool" in economic "battles"...

What is available is very different than what is affordable. If it isn't available, even rich kids will do without.

How many do they need? The amount you can afford may be entirely different to how many you may need. These things are different words for a reason, because they are not the same thing and they express different ideas.
Rather beyond the point, more than just semantics, shows Trump has no idea how Americans live, nor does he share any empathy with what they may experience going forward

All Americans need to face austerity or the republic is doomed. It just so happens the wealthy can weather it better but ask yourself and be honest, why are they wealthy and not me? Envy is a sin.
“weathering it better?”

Being born on third base accounts for a lot of it, plus luck, their aren’t a lot of actual Hoarito Alger biographies out there

Yet you pretend that someone that goes to college and doesn't tell others not to is an example of this hypocrisy. So, again. Tell me when and where Trump ever suggested you should not go to college. If you do that, I'll agree with your example, it will be hypocrisy.

You say: Trump went to an elite college, but MAGA says you shouldn't! And I ask, is Trump part of this hypocrisy? Has he told you not to go to an elite college?

You say: Well, no. But MAGA says it!

I point out, if Trump is the source of MAGA and does not say that, you may be pointing out hypocrisy among the wrong group. It isn't MAGA that tells you not to go to college... Now if you had one of those circle graphs that Kamala loves so much, you might find some crossover from "MAGA" and folks who think this, but it isn't a MAGA thing.

Trump has proposed things like Green Cards for folks that have graduated from a US college (even Junior Colleges or what others call Community Colleges)... He seems to want folks to go to college, his actions undercut what you say is "MAGA"...
I said Trump has a golden toilet and tells MAGA morons to make due with less, and I wrote that MAGA elites go to Ivy League universities, but then tell the MAGA base higher education isn't worth it.

You're free to imagine right-wing media and MAGA influencers haven't been downplaying the value of higher education for years.

Again, you conflate things, at this point we can see it is purposeful.

I explained how and why. Even suggested there is probably some crossover, but "MAGA" is not the source of this. That you ignore information doesn't change that it exists.

The reality: Trump (the source of MAGA) doesn't eschew college and by action shows he values it. I pointed out policy suggested by Trump that underscores this point. Yet you still say it is all "MAGA's" fault, this is because you want to tie it to Trump, which is what the use of "MAGA" does... However, Trump's actions put a lie to your suggestion and attempt to tie this to him.

Ok,
You just demonstrate that you do not understand what he said, and are willing to replace what he said with what you want him to have said...

This is just strawman nonsense. What he said wasn't about what was affordable, what he said was what may or may not be available. These things are different form each other.
I see the difference. It makes no significance to me. There is no good reason For these things to be unavailable. They would never be unavailable to his grandchildren.

I don't think you believe they will be unavailable to your grandchildren either (once you get some).

True, I would say no one needs a doll or a pencil. I do think people need dinner, or at least a meal every once in a while.
Depends on how fat they are. Sadly quite a few Americans would do well by eating a lot less and much more healthy. Hoping RFK can be a positive force in this national disgrace.

How many dollies did you have growing up? I didnt have any. I had footballs basketballs baseball gloves and bats...camping equipment....rifles and shotguns and even a little .22 for plinking
Do you think that was a response to the thread? You make everything about you
There are almost no girls with 35 dolls or 250 pencils. That is not the point. Trump is sending a message that the masses will have less. It is a lower level of finances for the people, so the wealthy can have more.
It also shows how out of touch Trump is. He does not know how the people live, and he does not care.

By then, no. But there is still no reason for them to be unavailable to anyone’s children. This move is counterproductive and only harmful to the entire world… but my candidate lost…. I still have the right to speak about my view.

About 25% of JFK’s views are positive. On balance I think his anti-vaccine ideology is harmful.

There is a good reason the British will not accept American beef.

I don't think you believe they will be unavailable by Christmas... I think you know that this will be over by then and more than moot. We will have the result by then.

Personally I think you are working in the moment and not looking bigger picture. I will wait for the result rather than try to make bank on the process. It isn't like I love me some tariffs... I find it incredibly funny how the parties have switched places on this subject. It shows the liquidity of the parties supposedly central beliefs. Just a few short years ago Bernie Sanders was all for tariffs and protectionism for American goods and republicans were for "Free Trade"... Now, it's all flipped. Tariffs are teh EEEeeeviiilll to Bernie and republicans a cheering them on...

I am still of the same opinion. Tariffs are a tax, and one that is paid by every person. They are inflationary, and if you do not make enough of the product they are placed on in your own nation they often make things more difficult to get (what we are talking about here).

Now, placing tariffs on nations that subsidize products until Americans stop making them and then increase the prices... I get why they might do this... do I like it? I don't like taxes that can be placed or removed at the whim of the Executive...

Likely over by Christmas because The Felon has already begun his capitulation, it was an awful misguided plan, that backfired. Thankfully the leaders of industry had a “meeting” with the Felon and explained things to him.

It was an ego effort to make a splash. If he truly wanted to change the trade structure there are much better ways to go about it, but they would have made less headlines.

I’ve always believed in free trade, and have been a liberal my entire adult life. I do not like too much market manipulation and I believe in a global economy.

I’d like some effort to influence the slave labor used in China and other places and would support economic pain to try to influence what happens there, but that is not this!

And here you have my prediction become reality. Democrats are poised to say any deal made is "capitulation"...

I will wait for the result and judge then. At this point I find it entertaining because of that "flip" from both of the parties. It is extremely amusing to me.

We will be very lucky if it does not result in another Republican recession.
