In the 1930s there was a party called the British Union of Fascists, led by the pro-Nazi Sir Oswald Mosley. They never got an MP elected, but in 1940 the party was suppressed and its leading members imprisoned without trial.

In an ideal world maybe that wouldn't have happened, but in war things are sometimes done differently. Ukraine is in a life-or-death war right now - whatever Putin chooses to call it. Special operation, was it?

Russia is WAGING WAR ON THE UKRAINE. I completely understand banning parties w/ ties to them. It's not at all comparable to banning a party because you disagree w/ them.
