There is no hard evidence that it is necessary.
As that presupposes that they will make enough of a positive difference to stop the invasion.
There is NO evidence of that...ANYWHERE.
That is pure propaganda.

Forcing people that do not want to fight - to fight.
To force them to die for a cause they do not believe in.
To force them to leave their families fatherless...possibly parentless.
And throwing in the fact that there will not be enough time to train them in almost any, real sense.

Is not only NOT admirable.
It is blood thirsty and disgusting.
Especially considering Zelenskyy is obviously not prepared to die for his country...he is just getting others to save his political skin.
Plus, there is no evidence from recorded history - that I am aware of - where such a move 'saved the day'.

This war is a catastrophic blunder for Putin. He is going to undo 30 years of economic progress in Russia, and reduce them to a third rate economic power with a GDP on par with Spain, and geopolitically isolated from the capitalist world.

You can kiss Putin's ass all you want and beg him to be our ally.

I myself wouldn't waste time on a third rate economic power. As a geopolitical strategy, I would cultivate the relationship with the Quad: India, United States, Japan, Australia to counterbalance Chinese hegemony.

If Biden were serious about the Quad - he would have had more then 1 introductory phone call
when he came in office.
Biden likes the trapping of power, but like Gates said always fucks up foreign affairs -
in this case just abandoning initiatives
Just like the US China trade deal his trade rep wanted to continue -Biden let them both rot on the vine

First, you just gave away your age and naivete. Not everyone in the military has to fight. In a small, all-volunteer service, all are trained. In Ukraine's case there is a need to carry bodies off the street (morgue duty), cooks, supply truck drivers, etc. Lots of positions for the cowards, traitors and conscientious objectors.

Second, what kind of gutless creep doesn't want to defend his/her nation from attack by foreigners? I'd just shoot them for treason, but stripping them and turning them loose inside the Russian lines works too.

Its good to see you making incremental progress inching your way towards what I have said all along --> Putin is a criminal who can't be trusted, and the sooner Russia develops some incipient democratic traditions the better for everyone.

It doesnt change NATO expansion ,meddling in UK (Euromaidan) , using Uk as a pawn in a proxy war

Like I said a zillion times we (especially the USA) set up the predicate for the war

"WE" didn't set up anything. There are no excuses for Putin's actions. The notion that we are "meddling" is absurd in the extreme. Because of us, Europe is still free from Communism. :palm:
