Or the infrastructure necessary to deliver electricity. Most power companies lease land for utility poles, etc.

I forget the name of the company now, but I owned a few hundred shares of a very profitable company that owned the land that utility companies/cell companies/oil companies used for movement of product.

Paid a nice dividend and I was thrilled until the parent company decided to buy out all investors.

There is no form of power that isn't subsidized by the govt.

That's what govt. is for. Invest in the things that the private sector won't touch.

Wrong. Feds pour next to nothing into most power plant builds. It doesn't cost the taxpayers any more than having the ships making squares in the ocean off the US East Coast unless those ships have to expend ordinance. Also, a navy that doesn't go to sea doesn't fight worth a shit when there's a war. Look at the ass kicking the Russian navy is getting in the Black Sea because of that.

Solar power is the most expensive method of generating electric power there is. Wind is a close 2nd. They wouldn't survive in the marketplace without government subsidies and mandates. Your rebate is nothing more than communism.

We don't use Persian Gulf oil in the U.S. We can supply ourselves completely (if the government gets out of the way!).
