Salma Hayek wants "justice" for her dog who was fatally shot last week.

The 49-year-old star has implored authorities to investigate the death of her beloved pet Mozart, after the canine was found at her Washington State ranch with a bullet wound close to his heart.

Taking to her Instagram account the brunette stunner - who suspects foul play - posted a majestic photograph of the nine-year-old pooch and wrote: "I have been mourning the death of my dog, Mozart who I personally delivered out of his mother's womb.

"He was found dead in my ranch Friday with a shot close to his heart. I am hoping that the Washington State authorities do justice to this wonderful dog whom in 9 years never bit or attacked anyone. He loved his territory and never strayed away...he was the most loving and loyal companion. He didn't deserve a slow and painful death.
