Philadelphia police say it appears another case of teens playing with guns in Germantown has left a 14-year-old girl critically wounded.

It happened after 3 a.m. Wednesday at home on Bloyd Street near East Woodlawn Street.

Officers arrived to find the 14-year-old victim with gunshot wounds to the hand and chest.

According to the police report, the juvenile brought a pistol to Dogwood Place Apartments to show off.

Police believe she unloaded all but one round and then placed the pistol to her head.

As a witness reportedly tried to stop her, the gun went off.

Guns save lives.
If someone there had been packing an assault rifle they could have stopped the girl from shooting herself in the head.

A 17-year-old boy died in Toney after an accidental shooting.

Limestone County Sheriff's Office investigators say the teen shot himself while playing with a handgun inside his home. It happened in the 25000 block of Highway 251.

The boy, who has not been identified, died at the scene.

A 17-year-old male sustained injuries from what authorities are calling an accidental shooting Wednesday night, according to a release from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting took place at about 11:15 p.m. outside a home in the 1300 block of Lemonwood Road.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found the teen had a single gunshot wound to the chest. His name has not been released.

He was taken by air ambulance to Orange Park Medical Center.

The Alma Police Department is investigating after a seven year old accidentally shot and killed his father.

Police say the boy got the high powered rifle from a locked case while the family was asleep.

He removed a lock from the case after finding the keys.

The boy then accidentally shot and killed his father.

Child protective services are assisting the family.

A 39-year-old man was shot to death Sunday night while he was fishing in a bayou with friends in northeast Houston.

The shooting happened about 9 p.m. along Halls Bayou, said Latonia Bailey, a homicide investigator with the Houston Police Department.

Bailey said the victim, identified as Michael Yates Jr., was fishing in the bayou with a friend and the friend's young son when they saw a man walking along nearby railroad tracks. He approached them and spoke with them. Then, for an unknown reason, he pulled out a gun and shot the victim. He tired to shoot another fisherman but his gun apparently jammed.

The suspect left after the shooting. No description of him was available.

Police said the other fishermen told investigators the shooting was unprovoked.

Two men were shot to death in Severn, Maryland, according to police.

Police say they were first alerted around 12 p.m. for a possible home robbery. Responding officers located a man with gunshot injuries who had climbed through the window of the home located in the 7600 block of Sandy Farm Road. Police say at this time they believe the man "entered the home seeking assistance for his gunshot wound." He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The officers searched the area surrounding the home and located a white pickup truck that was parked nearby. A man who had been shot to death was found inside the vehicle, police say.

In a press release, police state they believe both men were shot during an argument at a nearby home.

A man was found shot to death late Sunday in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Columbus police were called shortly after 11 p.m. on a report of an unresponsive man lying in the parking lot.

The man was discovered to have been shot. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene at 11:34 p.m.

Police said early Monday they have not yet identified the victim.

A 23-year-old man was shot to death in El Monte during what authorities believe was a road rage incident.

The victim, a passenger in a truck, began to argue with a person in another vehicle, said Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The gunman shot the victim in the upper torso when the argument escalated and left the scene in a dark-colored SUV with at least one other man in the car with him.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are investigating a shooting death at a cabin at Lake Almanor in California.

KTVN-TV of Reno reports that Plumas County authorities received a 911 call reporting a man had been shot.

Plumas County Sheriff's deputies responded and located a man who they pronounced dead.

Deputies say all subjects involved have been accounted for and there is no danger to the public.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

People who know the man shot and killed this morning on Richmond's Southside are remembering him as a hard worker.

Police sources told WTVR CBS 6 officers responded to reports of a "man down" in the 200 block of Playn Street off Hull Street around 6:20 a.m.

Police arrived on the scene three minutes after the call.

Richmond Police Spokesperson Gene Lepley could not elaborate, but said the shooting likely happened within minutes before the call.

Lepley said the department expects to release the name and age of victim tonight.

Police are investigating after an accidental shooting injured one person at a Davie home.

Davie police are still searching for the shooter.

The incident took place at a house located near Southwest Eighth Street and 136th Avenue, sometime before 6 a.m.

According to officials, an adult was shot.

7Skyforce flew over the scene as police spoke with family members.

The front of the home could be seen taped off, as an investigation is underway into who might have fired the shot.

A three-year-old boy is in critical condition after an accidental shooting in Marion Co., Texas.

The shooting happened at a home on Monica Dr. in the Lake of the Pines area.

When officers arrived they found the child had been shot in the face. The toddler was airlifted to University Health in Shreveport.

According to family members the child was playing with his brothers on a bed and discovered the gun under the covers.

More information will be gathered from the child’s father as to where the firearm was actually being stored.

As of early Tuesday morning, the toddler underwent surgery and remained in critical condition in the Pediatric ICU.

According to Sheriff David McKnight, the investigation into this incident is ongoing. He stated, however, that nothing in the investigation indicated that this was anything other than a tragic accident.
