Charleston detectives have arrested Brandon Levert Gray, 19, of Central Avenue after a week-long investigation into the shooting death of Timothy Leon Thompson Jr., 26, of Amandaville.


Officers responded about 12:30 a.m. June 9 to the area of 1531 First Ave. after shots were reported to have been fired in the area.

They found Thompson's body on a sidewalk between a home and a garage, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.


Thompson had been shot several times in the head and body and was dead when officers arrived…

Police have arrested an Arlington man after a Dallas-area shooting left three dead and a fourth person injured during an apparent domestic dispute.




Arlington Police Sgt. Os Flores said 45-year-old Dalton James Bennett Jr. was being held in the Arlington City Jail Saturday on three counts of capital murder and one count of attempted capital murder. His bail was set at $1.5 million.




The shooting occurred early Saturday morning in an Arlington apartment where responding officers found two women and one man dead, police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard said.




A fourth man with gunshot wounds was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

After one or more gunmen in an SUV opened fire on a SEPTA bus in North Philadelphia Saturday night, the bus driver "followed his instincts" and drove directly to nearby Temple University Hospital, a SEPTA spokesperson said.




Police said one or more of four men in a green SUV opened fire on the bus while both vehicles were in motion. It wasn't clear how many in the SUV fired or whether anyone on the bus was targeted. No one on the bus fired back, police said.




Police were investigating a theory that the SUV driver might have thought the bus had cut him off.

Battle Creek police are on the hunt for a man involved in a shooting.




It happened at an area near Greenwood and Howland at around 11:00pm.

The identity of the Oklahoma Trooper involved in a pursuit and shootout near Antlers Oklahoma has been released.




The shootout killed two Texas men suspected of robbing a bank in Wright City.




Trooper Eric Blades is on paid leave after the incident Thursday in MurCurtain county that killed Jeremy Dysart and Justin Whisenhunt.




Authorities were chasing the two men in a pick-up truck. Another suspect, Rachel Spear of Dallas, was with the men.






The vehicle stopped near an OHP roadblock on Oklahoma Highway 3.




Then, a gun battle erupted and the two men were fatally shot.

Two young men have escaped with their lives after being blasted in two separate recent shootings, and if the date were anywhere near March 17, we’d be saying they had the luck of the Irish. One of them is Alex Pullen, who at 11:38 Friday night was walking in front of 165 Oakland St. when his world took a painful turn.



“He heard one shot fired, and he was hit in his left leg,” reported Lt. Tom Murphy Jr. “He was walking in the parking lot between Hoffman and Coolidge avenues, and walked to Hoffman Avenue to wait for the police to arrive.



The bullet went through the leg.




This shooting followed closely on the heels of another near-disasterous shooting not far away.




A 22-year-old walking at the intersection of Prospect Street and Bellevue Avenue was grazed in the head by unknown gunfire.

Cleveland Police are investigating a double shooting on the city's east side where one person was killed.




According to police, officers received a call for two males reportedly shot at Lee Road and Lotus Avenue.




EMS responded to the scene and found one victim, Deshand Napier, 31, of Cleveland unresponsive. Napier suffered a gunshot wound to the head and multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. He pronounced dead on scene.



The second victim, Aresnio Smith, 21, of Bedford, was taken to South Point Hospital by EMS.

While on scene, officers were told that the two victims were standing on the sidewalk at Lee Road and Lotus Avenue when multiple shots were fired by an unknown individual hitting both victims.

Madison County authorities are investigating a shooting that left a victim with two gunshot wounds.




The Madison County Sheriff's Office reports that around 5:25 deputies responded to the shooting on Bozeman Ferry Road.




Upon arriving, deputies discovered a while male that was the victim of two gunshot wounds.




The shooter was still on scene when deputies arrived.

A Fort Washington man was killed Saturday in a shooting in the District.



D.C. police said 32-year-old David A. Matthews was suffering from gunshot wounds when he was found on the 5600 block of North Capitol Street NW. Investigators later determined the shooting took place a block away, on the unit block of Longfellow Street NW, police said.




Matthews was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police are looking to identify a man clinging to life who was found in Fairmount Park suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and upper body.




According to police, the man, who has only been described as being black and appearing to be in his 20s, had not been carrying any identification and his identity is not known.




Police found the man along the 3600 block of Greenland Drive inside the park.




It was initially reported the man had been shot in his right temple, back of his head, chest, shoulder and back. He was listed in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania...

The Martin Police Department is investigating a shooting early this morning that killed a Dresden man at the Hut Nut nightclub.




Police responded to the call about a disturbance at the club on Palace Street shortly before 1:30 a.m.




Officers found Justin Parker, 22, of Dresden, lying on the floor. Parker was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound after emergency medical officials arrived.

An 18-year-old New Hampshire woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after driving from a house where a friend allegedly fired gunshots into the air.






Kaleigh Tara Newman, of Milton, was charged early Saturday morning following reports of a man shooting a gun into the air.






Two drunk female teenagers showed up at the home at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday and were asked to leave by the homeowner.






The girls and several males returned a short time later in two vehicles, and one of the males shot off a few rounds while yelling for the occupants to come out of the house.

A man is in the hospital after he was shot during a short standoff with police in northwest Houston.




Police said officers arrived to the scene near the intersection of Georgi and Donna Lynn around 8:15 and spotted an armed man pacing back and forth from in front of his house to between houses.




Authorities said two units on the scene told him multiple times to put the gun down, but the man began acting irrational and fired shots toward the officers.






Police said the officers took cover behind a tree and returned fire, striking the suspect in the chest.

One day after eight people were shot at a Brooklyn house party, five more people were shot and wounded at another house party just a few miles away.


Police say four men and a woman were shot near Nostrand Avenue and Fenimore Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

A Fort Campbell soldier has been charged with criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide after two people were shot at an apartment complex in Clarksville.


Clarksville Police Officer Jim Knoll said 21-year-old Phtra Oum, who gave his address as HHB 3-320 Field Artillery, Ft. Campbell, Ky., remained in the Montgomery County Jail Sunday.


Knoll said Oum shot and killed 20-year-old Victor Moulden Jr. of Clarksville and injured a 21-year-old Oak Grove, Ky., man at about 2:30 a.m. CDT Sunday outside an apartment complex.
