An unidentified man survived a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head Wednesday night, said Police Capt. Corey MacDonald.




The man reportedly made a suicide attempt in a parking lot off Durgin Lane where police and fire responders arrived at about 8:25 p.m.




MacDonald said patrol officers and detectives initially processed the scene as a suspicious shooting, before further information led to the determination that it was a suicide attempt.

A single gunshot wound to the arm and chest killed a Winchester man whom authorities say threatened police officers with a knife Monday night, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday.




The N.H. Attorney General’s Office confirmed Wednesday that 39-year-old Christopher D. Seksinsky was killed in the shooting.




The cause of his death was a gunshot wound to the arm, which entered the chest, according to Dr. Thomas A. Andrew, the state’s chief medical examiner.




Officers responded to the 35 Keene Road apartment building Monday night shortly after 9 p.m., a woman outside told police her husband, armed with a knife and suicidal, was inside, according to a news release from the Attorney General’s Office.






After police told the man, later identified as Seksinsky, to drop the knife and used a Taser, he continued to come toward the officers and one shot him...

Police are investigating a shooting in Aurora last night that sent one man to the hospital and left officers looking for three suspects.




Shortly after 9 p.m., officers were called to the 3000 block of South Jamaica Court, said Sgt. Cassidee Carlson, spokeswoman for the Aurora Police Department.




Officers located a man, whose name has not been released, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital...

The Amarillo man convicted of mail fraud and awaiting federal sentencing committed suicide this morning, authorities said.





Tommy Lee Buckley, 64, died about 9:15 a.m. of a gunshot wound, police said.





A federal jury Wednesday found Buckley guilty of bilking investors out of $2.8 million over the course of four years. Buckley, who called his plan "TreasuryGate," claimed to have certificates of obligation for trillions of dollars made out to current and former heads of state.

Police shot and killed four suspects during a confrontation after they got out of their vehicles wearing ski masks and carrying guns.




Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta says the robbery bureau was investigating Thursday evening in the southwestern section of the county when they learned of suspicious activity.






The suspects arrived in the area wearing ski masks and carrying guns. A confrontation occurred as the men got out of their vehicles.






Shots were fired and four suspects were killed.

County prosecutors have decided not to file charges against a state trooper for the February shooting death of a 40-year-old Butte, Mont., woman.




Christie A. Little, a passenger in a Jeep Cherokee involved in a police pursuit, was shot in the head through a side window of the fleeing vehicle by Idaho State Police Trooper Dan Howard.




Howard fired his weapon after a collision between his patrol car and the Jeep.




Howard got out of his vehicle after the crash and thought the driver, Little's husband Mark M. Maykopet, was trying to back into him with the Jeep.




Maykopet told investigators he was backing away from the accident to wheel around and continue his effort to flee.

One man was shot to death and four others wounded during an altercation early Friday in the 1200 block of Haddon Avenue, Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk said.



Kevin Johnson, 31, of Camden, was shot multiple times about 1:30 a.m. It appears he was in an argument with the shooter prior to the time of the shooting. He died about 2 a.m. in Cooper University Hospital here, a spokesman for Faulk said.




About a half block away, at Haddon Avenue and Liberty Street, a number of people were in line to use an ATM near the restaurant Donkey’s. Four were injured by stray gunfire that sped past the intended target and into the crowd.



The injured victims were a 55-year-old Camden man, a 20-year-old Camden woman, a 24-year-old Camden man and a 47-year-old homeless man.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the body of a man found Friday afternoon in the Pawnee National Grasslands is that of 35-year-old Garrett Moore of Windsor.




Moore died from a self-inflected gunshot wound to the head, the sheriff's office said Friday.





Moore was the adult present at the in-home daycare center on Monday when an 11-month-old girl became tangled in a playpen mattress and stopped breathing.





The infant, Kalea Jean Mummery, was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies and then flown to Children¹s Hospital in Aurora.




She died at the hospital early Wednesday morning...

Police in a village north of New York City are looking for a gunman who shot a pet cat, and possibly two others.




The 2-year-old black cat named Davie had its front leg amputated.




The New York State Humane Association is offering a reward for the culprit who wounded the animal in Philmont, about two hours north of New York.




Davie's owner, who was not publicly identified, says the cat would sit on the back porch and meow until he was let in. One night, the animal's front leg was dripping blood.




A veterinarian determined it was shot with a .22-caliber gun.




Two other cats in the area also were wounded, one in the hind leg, the other the neck.

A man was killed and a woman wounded when they were shot while sitting in a vehicle Saturday morning in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.





The two were sitting in a vehicle when they were shot at 5:24 a.m. in the 8500 block of South Givins Court, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.


The victims were a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.





The man was dead on the scene, Mirabelli said. A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death but the man’s identity was being withheld Saturday morning pending notification of next of kin.


The woman was taken in an unidentified condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Mirabelli.

A York man was charged with criminal homicide Saturday morning after police had arrested him hours earlier on an attempted homicide warrant, said Lt. Tim Utley with York City Police.




Sebastian Olmeda, 21, of the 500 block of North Beaver Street was charged Saturday in the fatal shooting of Eddie Rivera, 32, of New York, police said.




Police responded to the shooting in the 100 block of Pattison Street at 2:47 a.m., Utley said.




Rivera suffered a shot in the arm and chest, police said, and was taken to York Hospital's trauma bay where he was pronounced dead at 3:28 a.m..




An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.




Utley said police were securing the scene of the fatal shooting when they heard shots fired in the 700 block of East Market Street. Officers were on their way to the shots when they saw Olmeda jump a brick wall.

A 19-year-old man from Prince George’s County died of gunshot wounds early Saturday in Southeast Washington, District police said.




Officers found Jeffrey Yarnell Covington, of Upper Marlboro, at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday in the 600 block of 46th Place SE. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel took Covington to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
