An autopsy released Tuesday shows more than a dozen gunshot wounds to a college student killed in a triple-murder last month.

Three women and a man were found by a passing motorist on N.C. Highway 54 in Durham last month.

Investigators said 23-year-old Alexandria Pierce, 24-year-old Amesha Page-Smith and 22-year-old Adrianne Stevens were all shot to death in the car.

The gunman, 23-year-old Brinton Millsap, was found dead outside the car.

Pierce was shot 13 times, according to an autopsy released Tuesday. A medical examiner found wounds on her legs, back, neck and head. The report said the bullets were from a .45-caliber handgun.

Page-Smith's autopsy was released last week.

It showed she was shot four times with a .45-caliber handgun while sitting in the driver's seat.

She was shot in the right upper shoulder, left side of her stomach, right leg and right upper back.

If all 17 gunshot wounds were caused by separate .45-caliber bullets from the same gun, the shooter would have needed to reload, according to a Greensboro gunshop owner.

He said a double-stack magazine for a .45 caliber gun can hold a maximum of 14 bullets.
