A wild shootout between cops and a gunman on a Brooklyn street left two people dead -- including a mother caught in the crossfire as she sat on her stoop with her daughter.

The bullets began flying at 9 p.m., on Park Place in Crown Heights five hours after the end of the Caribbean Parade, which had passed four blocks away.

The violence was set off when Randy Johnson and Leroy Webster got into a post-parade brawl inside 637 Park Place, officials said.

When cops arrived, Webster refused to surrender and opened fire, Kelly said.

"We saw cops with weapons drawn and a suspect running down the street. The cops were shooting at the suspect and the suspect was shooting also," another witness said.

Eight officers fired about 70 shots, a source told the Post. The barrage killed the gunman. It's not clear how many shots he fired.

Police responding to a report of shots outside a convenience store found one man shot to death and a second man suffering from a gunshot wound, an Ontario Police Department news release said.

The dead man is a 30-year-old Azusa resident, according to the San Bernardino County coroner's website. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The injured man, whose name was unavailable, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, the news release said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that two cars pulled into the Circle K parking lot at the corner of Vineyard Avenue and D Street about 2:07 a.m.

Words were exchanged between the occupants of the two vehicles followed by an exchange of gunfire.

The injured man and another man riding in the same car have been detained.

A gun-toting trio opened fire on a father and his 10-year-old son in the South Bronx before leading a cop on a wild chase that ended in a shootout, police said.

The mayhem erupted around 2:49 a.m., when one of the men shot at a Dodge Durango at Westchester Ave. and Zerega Ave., cops said.

A 10-year-old boy sitting inside the vehicle was grazed by the hail of bullets, and his 37-year-old father was hit, police said.

Police said the father flagged down a patrol car and that a description of the late model maroon Chevy Impala the suspects were in was broadcast to other officers.

A cop who was driving alone in his patrol car heard the description and began chasing the Impala down Lafayette Ave. until the driver lost control and slammed into a fence, police said.

Police said the officer then chased a 19-year-old man on foot and shot.

Two other suspects are in custody.

Witness Cecilio Negron, 40, said the men were firing at the cop during the chase. "When they were driving, they were shooting at the cops," he said.

Negron said about nine shots were fired at the fleeing men.

A mother is dead and a father is recovering from a gunshot wound after trying to come to their daughter’s rescue early Saturday morning as she was being attacked in her bedroom.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said a 19-year-old woman returned to her Whipple Lake Road home in Independence Township from a night out with friends around 2:40 a.m. to find a 25-year-old Holly man waiting for her in her room. He then assaulted her, grabbing her by the neck and choking her.

Bouchard said that the woman screamed and her mother came in the room to see what was going on and was shot in the neck by the suspect.

Upon hearing the gunshot, the woman’s father then came in and was shot in the shoulder.

The father was able to get away to attempt to get his own gun, but as he returned, the suspect shot himself in the chest.

The mother and father were transported to POH Regional Medical Center where the 56-year-old mother was later pronounced dead.

Five people are confirmed dead, and the suspect is believed to have shot and killed himself in Kentucky.

State police have released the names of the five victims: Charles Richardson, 49; his wife, Karen Richardson, 50; her children, Kevin Hudson, 17 and Katrina Hudson, 22 and an acquaintance, Robert Raber, 30. Katrina Hudson was pregnant, according to officials.

The suspect, Shayne Riggleman, 22, of Morgantown, was described by troopers as an acquaintance of the victims, but further details of their relationship were not released.

A motive for the killings has not been disclosed.

State police believe Riggleman used a high-powered rifle.

The bodies of the victims have been sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston.

After the shootings, Riggleman took a Jeep Cherokee that belonged to one of the victims and headed to the Fairchance, Pa. area to meet up with a girlfriend, police said.

During that trip, Riggleman struck another vehicle. An elderly woman got out of the vehicle, and he struck her with the SUV he was driving. The woman was not killed, but her condition is unknown.

Riggleman then drove down Interstate 79, stopping in Roane County at an Exxon station. He severely wounded a man during an attempted carjacking at the gas station.

When Riggleman was cornered by officers in Lewis County, Ky., he killed himself.

Officers found a high-powered rifle, a second rifle and a .22 handgun in Riggleman's vehicle.
State police have searched Riggleman's home, talked to people who knew him and checked out his posts on social media websites, they said.

but you've been cleaning those guns all evening
they keep us safe dear
but it's cold up here
come to bed
be up in a bit
- ladder appears at window
- wife looks up surprised
- masked man puts his finger to lips
my husband is downstairs and armed
is he coming up soon
nah cleaning his guns
you look lonely

- ruffling sheets
honey what's all that noise up there
nothing dear you clean your guns
- quiet
dear i'm coming to bed now
- muffled reply
- sotto voce
oh she's sleeping so content
- says to himself
isn't it nice being secure
- hugs his gun close
- scene fades

Shortly after 3 a.m., police found a 22-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds in a car in the 1000 block of North Fifth Street. He was Alfredo Santiago of 400 block of South Fifth Street in Camden. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:18 a.m.

The earliest episode was also the most violent, leaving one man dead and three in critical condition at Temple University Hospital. It happened shortly before 12:30 a.m., on the 1800 block of North Newkirk Street in the city's Brewerytown section.

Aaron Tucker, 28, who lived on the block, was pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later. He had been shot in the head.

Critically injured were a 42-year-old, shot in the face; a 27-year-old shot in the chest; and another 27-year-old, shot in the back.

The cases are likely unconnected, police said this afternoon.

The city's latest homicide appears to have been the result of an argument after two men had been drinking, a prosecutor said Monday afternoon.

Assistant State's Attorney Steve Pattelli said Stevie A. Linwood, 30, of 2105 W. Howett St. and Sherman Smith, 26, had been drinking together Friday night and were last heard arguing outside a house at 2113 W. Howett St. about 1:15 a.m. before a shot rang out.

Two men and a third person had been drinking at the house before leaving for a local bar.

The resident, who knew both Smith, 2128 W. Howett St., and Linwood heard the voices and later the shot.

Smith was struck in the chest and pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m. in the emergency room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
