A 37-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound in Northwest Jacksonville around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Jacksonville police said.



Homicide detectives were called to a robbery in the 2900 block of West Second Street on the Northside.



Police said that when they arrived, they found Mark Lee lying in a yard.

One person has been hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head after comparing firearms someone else in Henderson.


Henderson police officers responded at about 12:45 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Ballow Street, according to a department news release.




Officials responded and one person was taken by air to a Tyler hospital to be treated, according to the release.


An initial investigation indicated that two people were comparing firearms when a shot was fired and one person fell to the floor.

A 17-year-old male was arrested Tuesday on weapons charges in connection with the double shooting Monday afternoon in South Peoria.


Bilal M. Wilkins of 915 S. Louisa St. was booked into the Peoria County Jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated battery with a weapon.


He remained in custody and had not yet been formally charged or made an appearance before a judge to determine his bond.


Wilkins is believed to be involved in the incident about 4:40 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Shelley Street that left two men with gunshot wounds.

A deadly shooting involving several victims occurs on Thursday morning in Phoenix near 25th Avenue and Campbell, south of Camelback and Interstate 17.


Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos told The Associated Press police were called out at about 3:30 a.m. and found two men, ages 20 and 26, dead from gunshot wounds.


A 35-year-old woman was also found with a gunshot wound.


She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

An infant boy died of a fatal gunshot wound Tuesday night near Otterville, according to the Cooper County Sheriff's Office.


The 2-year-old boy gained access to a handgun at his family's home in rural Cooper County and discharged the weapon, striking himself in the head, a news release states.


The child was taken to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia and then transported via helicopter to MU Women's and Children Hospital, where he died.

A 30-year-old Gainesville man was shot and killed Thursday evening, and Alachua County investigators are looking for the shooter.



Deputies were called to the 7000 block of Southwest Sixth Place in Holly Heights just after 7 p.m., where they found Robert Strappier with a gunshot wound in his abdominal area.



Strappier was taken to a hospital, where he died.

A Valley City man who was found dead near Bald Hill Dam on Tuesday after firing shots at two businesses died of a gunshot wound.


The state medical examiner's office determined the cause of death for 21-year-old Matt Schaefer.


Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says a rifle was found in Schaefer's pickup.


Schaefer fired one shot into Dakota Silver Liquor Store and three rounds into a convenience store.


He'd gotten into an argument with employees of the liquor store earlier.

Police are investigating how a man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest early this morning.


Police spokesman Darrel Petry said at 6:55 a.m., a black man drove a silver four-door Chrysler car to a convenience store at 9050 Gateway North in Northeast El Paso.

The man walked into the store and asked store employees to call 911 because he had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found the man had been shot at the chest at an unknown location.

Petry said investigators determined the man was not shot at the store, but so far have been unable to determine where the shooting took place.

The man, whom police have not publicly identified, was taken to William Beaumont Army Medical Center for treatment.

A man was shot and wounded in northeast Anchorage but police say it took a while to find the victim.


Lt. Dave Parker tells the Anchorage Daily News that officers responded to a 911 call in Mountain View.


When they arrived, the shooting victim had vanished.


Parker says witnesses, including the victim, apparently scattered after the shooting.


Officers later pulled over a car and found a passenger who had been shot.

Minneapolis police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man found lying in a south Minneapolis alley early Sunday with a gunshot wound. He died Sunday afternoon at Hennepin County Medical Center.


According to Sgt. William Palmer, police in the Third Precinct were responding to an activation of their Shotspotter system in the area at about 4:30 a.m. when they got a call that there had been a shooting in the 2700 block of 13th Avenue S.


There they found the victim, whose identity has not yet been released.


He was taken to HCMC in "grave condition" and died Sunday afternoon, Palmer said.

A 10-year-old girl suffered gunshot wounds in the small of her back at a Rancho Cordova residence where deputies had earlier been called to check on a large party.


Deputies were summoned to El Parque Circle about 12:15 a.m. today by a person in the neighborhood who heard a shot fired and some screaming.
