A Mountain Grove woman who was fatally shot by Greene County Deputy Matthew Keatts, died of a gunshot wound to the head, an official said.

Tammy L. Robinette, 46, was killed Oct. 4 after she pulled a handgun and pointed it at the Deputy Keatts, according to the sheriff's office. He is on administrative leave, and an investigation is ongoing.

Deputy Medical Examiner Tom Van De Berg said Robinette died of a gunshot wound to the head. He would not say if she was shot once or more than once, calling the cause of death "the only thing that's being released at this point."

A 911 call captured two women's voices saying, "Don't do it," and, "You took my husband," before gunshots rang out in a shooting that left a man and a woman dead in a Helena apartment.

The line went dead, and the dispatcher at the other end put out the alert to officers: "Shots fired! Shots fired!"

Seven minutes later, another 911 call came from the same address, and a woman said: "I loved you with all my heart. It's because of that b----. You traded me for her, Joe. I loved you."

Dozens of exotic animals including tigers, lions and bears were let loose on Ohio farmland by their owner before he committed suicide, sparking a shoot-to-kill hunt in which 48 of the wild beasts, including 18 endangered Bengal tigers, were killed.

As the huge animals roamed inside and outside the 73-acre farm near Zanesville in eastern Ohio, schools were shut and panicked residents were told to stay inside on Wednesday.

Authorities killed 48 of the 56 animals, some at close range, including the tigers, six black bears, two grizzlies and 17 lions, said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz.

A monkey, possibly carrying the Herpes B virus, and a gray wolf remained at large, he told an afternoon news conference.

One of the escaped big cats reached an interstate highway and was hit by a car.

Authorities posted electronic warning signs, "Caution Exotic Animals" for motorists.

"We are not talking about your normal everyday house cat or dog. These are 300-pound Bengal tigers that we had to put down," Lutz said.

An Oxnard man is in the hospital after trading gunshots with police officers.

The shots were fired after the suspect fled the scene of a domestic disturbance.

He was later seen by Ventura County cops driving through Ojai, at which point he took them on a high-speed car chase.

He allegedly fired on the pursuing officers from his car, and was then hit with at least one shot…

A Southern California police officer looking for an armed ATM robber may have shot and killed the wrong man, investigators said Monday.

A Downey officer responding to the Saturday night robbery call spotted Michael Nida, a 31-year-old unarmed father of four who matched the description of the suspect, said Lt. Dave Dolson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which has taken over the shooting investigation

"It very well looks like it could be a matter of perception," Dolson told KNX radio. "This individual somewhat matches the description of an armed robber who robbed people at the ATM."

Nothing wrong with his shooting, was there? Just think, if Nida had been armed, he could've defended himself.

The evidence inside 3221 Beaver Ave. on Wednesday afternoon did not immediately tell a clear story.

Tanya Armour, 54, was dead with a gunshot wound to her head. Grady T. Edwards, 56, the man with whom she lived, was also dead; he had been shot in the neck.

A gun and a note were found at the scene, police said.

Detectives initially believed they may be dealing with a double suicide, said officer Raquel Foster, a Fort Wayne police spokeswoman. Because of this, police did not release information about the shooting Wednesday, except to say that they’d received a report of shots fired on the block.

The case turned Thursday after the Allen County Coroner’s Office examined the bodies of Armour and Edwards. An autopsy showed Armour had killed her companion, Edwards, and it was determined that Armour then killed herself, authorities said.
“We now understand what happened in that home,” Foster said.

Just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a relative of Armour called police to report she had heard about two shots fired inside the white, two-story house on Fort Wayne’s south side.

Officers had to force their way into the home, and once inside, the two bodies were discovered.

With no witnesses to the shootings, police began a double death investigation, Foster said.

Police would not discuss a possible motive for the shootings ....

A homeowner in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, Ga. was awakened by the sound of an intruder forcing his way in through a side door. After an initial investigation revealed the intruder to be downstairs, the homeowner retrieved a shotgun and went to the top of his stairs. As the criminal attempted to ascend the staircase, the homeowner warned him that he was armed and ordered him to leave. When the home invader refused to leave, the homeowner fired a warning shot into the floor. Still undeterred, the criminal moved toward the homeowner, who responded by opening fire on the intruder, striking him in the leg.

When police arrived the criminal was taken to a local hospital and listed as in stable condition. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta, Ga. October 27, 2011)

By now, would-be looters should be well aware of the adage “you loot, we shoot,” popularized during the periods of unrest following hurricanes Andrew and Katrina. In the wake of the violent storms that have been ravaging the South, the owner of Fuel City in Huntsville, Ala. armed himself with a gun and decided to monitor the business overnight. Around 2 a.m., the owner discovered a looter trying to break into the business. The owner shot the criminal, killing him.

After having a cigarette, Chris McCrary was re-entering his apartment in Huntsville, Ala. when a masked intruder entered the home. After a physical altercation, McCrary was able to retrieve a shotgun and fired at the criminal, causing him to flee. Later McCrary described his feelings towards the intruder, stating, “That’s all I was feeling then was just anger and rage… Like you’re not going to take my stuff that I’ve been working for. Go work for something yourself.”
