Because ultimately it's their acceptance rate which makes them "world class". It's an interesting discussion. Getting into an "elite" school is basically signaling to employers that you are ok. Someone asked the question would you go to four years of Princetons classes for free (so basically get the education) but not get a diploma would you do it? So is it more about what you learn in school or what the school you graduated from signals
A social pedigree allied to an absence of talent? I’d do the four years but that’s just me.
