I think you've got a complicated political problem over there. You have a very large Jewish population made up of people with a great deal more sense than to go and live in a fascist colony in the Middle East, but who are morally pressured by Zionists to support the place; like others, they felt the force of Nazism and its equivalents in the countries they came from and sort-of-half-accept the Zionist notion that the only answer is to imitate those racists in your own bit of bullying-territory. Being in general decent and sensible persons, however, they tend to vote for the Democrats, which tends in turn to neutralise normal progressive thinking, while the Republicans find it useful to have their own murder-gangs over there to work with their beloved Saudi-Arabian killers. Like standing up to the NRA, telling the truth about what's going on is going to be difficult, and take more guts than most politicians have.
