Austrian economics

desh, apparently you are going to go off into another tailspin with some partisan mud slinging about GLB and completely ignore the point, which was not about who was to blame but the accuracy of predictions made by Austrians. You are nothing more than a partisan hack, just like Krugman who is about the closest thing to an economist you have read and even then only his articles.

was it just paul saying this was dangerous law?

Nope

many others from all the schools said so.

Paul was not right and everyone else was wrong huh?

that means it was NOT a prediction by the Austrians that showed that they were right and all other schools were wrong huh

Where is your citation for these predictions of how it was going to lead to bad investments and create a bubble? If they were arguing what Paul was then they are using the Austrian Business Cycle. They were not doing so. Again, Krugman was in denial until near the very end.

the Austrian school is NOT anything but the short bus school of economics.

Pretending its held in high reguard is a lie

Desh what are the other schools? I don't believe you've listed them nor stated which one you support.

Nope they are using common sense.

that is not part of the Austrian school hense why they are seen as the short bus school

I don't pray to just one of these gods unlike you.

I go by track record.

How do you know the track record of a group if you don't even know who the groups are? You don't even know the different schools of economic thought.

SEC Votes for Final Rules Defining How Banks Can Be Securities Brokers

Eight Years After Passage of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Key Provisions Will Now Be Implemented

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2007-190

Washington, D.C., Sept. 19, 2007 - Ending eight years of stalled negotiations and impasse, the Commission today voted to adopt, jointly with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Board), new rules that will finally implement the bank broker provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999. The Board will consider these final rules at its Sept. 24, 2007 meeting. The Commission and the Board consulted with and sought the concurrence of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Office of Thrift Supervision

banks had no broker rules before GLBact

wrong... they could not sell securities prior to the act, other than CDs. With the repeal they were subjected to the same regs as everyone else, though they had some exceptions to the regulations that they got approved about 7 years AFTER the repeal. Once those exceptions were put in place, they had LESS regulation.
