N.Y. governor reportedly in prostitution ring N.Y. Times says he told advisers; press conference expected shortly

NEW YORK - Gov. Eliot Spitzer has told senior advisers that he had been involved in a prostitution ring, the New York Times reported Monday.

Spitzer was scheduled to make an announcement Monday afternoon.

Spitzer officials wouldn't immediately comment on the story.
 
To me Spitzer is one of those 'holier than thou' guys that I cannot stand. (Yes, he has equivalent folks on the right). He becomes Govenor stating he's going to root out corruption and then one in office engages in it himself.

I'm all for corporations getting smacked down when they break the law. For those who followed Spitzer's cases closely while he was AG you could see it was about him and how he could best advance (i.e. - the Govenor's seat).

I'm not a fan of the guy so I don't shed any tears for him here.
 
LOL. If this was an R you'd be all up on it, there'd be thread after thread about it. Questions about how many diapers he used when he was with the prostitutes...

Interesting how it goes when the tables are turned. Nothing from cypress wondering about his bathroom manner and whether he can keep a beat while doing it....
 
I was just going to post this, I cannot believe it. If anyone had asked me who was least likely to be involved in a prostitution scandal I would have said Spitzer. Someone in my office said to me, Spitzer is in a sex scandal it’s on Tv now. And I said “no way! Who would have sex with him, I don’t believe it”.

Then I went to the NY Times and found out it was a prostitution thing. It’s unbelievable. What a disappointment this guy has been to me. First he pulls a Tom Delay, now this.
 
Spitzer is not a national figure (forunately). It's up to New York to decide what to do with him.

Course, those are the same people who elected Hillary Clinton to "represent them". So they're used to paying for prostitution. My guess is, they'll let him off with a hand slap.

Ironically enough it sounds like he has taken down a couple of leaders of prositution rings.
 
He’s guilty. It came right out of his administration.

First, he abused the power of his office by using state police to spy on an opposition leader, which to me, was a Tom Delay move, and I never felt the same way about him since then, because I realized he was a damned phony. It was a disappointment.

And now this. Now, he’s going to take the entire New York State Democratic party down with him, this son of a bitch, and why? Because he couldn’t keep it in his pants. I mean, what is wrong with men? Bored with your wife? Masturbate. If you have no imagination, rent a porn movie and masturbate to that. But you don’t get to be a Governor and cheat on your wife with prostitutes, that’s a trade-off you make. Stupid bastard.

Yep. That’s not irony though –it’s pure hypocrisy. He’s a big phony, and I used to really admire him, seriously. I had high hopes for him

Seriously, I don't give a fuck. If he wants to fuck prostitutes, I don't care. It doesnt' effect his ability to govern.

Prostitution is illegal Water. You can’t be the head official of a state, and be breaking the law.

And it's not impossible, the Republican party did very well here for a long time. You forget, Northeast Republicans are not your republicans. Here, they are fiscally conservative, but tend to be socially liberal. You won't find them running for state office on an anti-choice, anti-gay platform. They get elected.
