I'm having trouble explaining this lol so bear with me.

If a wall really works and fewer and fewer make it across, wouldn't the cost be proven excessive over time compared to the number apprehended?

Say the wall costs 12 billion and the first year 1.2 million illegals are apprehended, then the 2nd year 1 million, the third year 875000 etc. At what point does the cost and upkeep of the wall exceed the cost of apprehending, detaining and deporting illegals?

First off, your premise that ‘walls don’t work’ is counterintuitive, at minimum. The most notable wall in present time is In Israel and it works pretty well.

Secondly, there’s a whole host of costs associated with illegal immigration that you ignored. The wall would cut down on the number of border workers, their healthcare costs, their pensions and etc. Once the wall is built the only further cost is upkeep.

If one of those illegals (non-citizens) was going to murder one of your family members, I would imagine that you would not think that the cost was excessive.

I don't pay attention to fortune tellers. My family is less likely to be murdered by a non-citizen than by Joe Schmo down the street.

That's not an apples to apples comparison. A lot of the Israel barriers are fences, not walls.

As for your second comment, there doesn't seem to have been a good cost analysis made when the numbers vary so widely, depending on who's quoting them. How much extra are you willing to pay for this, and for how long?
