Fact-opinion differentiation

Inadequate explanation. The right-wing news knows what the truth is but their mission is to spread lies that help the super-rich, corporations, and Trump. Fox already lost 870 million for telling deliberate lies. The talking heads on their station admitted that was what they were doing. They have returned to their evil ways.
Yup.

The very founding premise, or reason for being, that began Fox News was Roger Ailes, at the time a Nixon surrogate, being butt hurt realizing that traditional News was not going to lie or side with Nixon and because all of the media would only report FACTS and TRUTH, then Nixon would be outed.

Roger realized then that if he could create a fake News channel to spread propaganda and misinformation, the right would never again lose a leader they liked, simply because he was breaking laws or doing other things that would unite most of the population against him.

Why Fox News was created

If Fox News had a DNA test, it would trace its origins to the Nixon administration. In 1970, political consultant Roger Ailes and other Nixon aides came up with a plan to create a new TV network that would circumvent existing media and provide "pro-administration" coverage to millions. "People are lazy," the aides explained in a memo. "With television you just sit — watch — listen. The thinking is done for you." Nixon embraced the idea, saying he and his supporters needed "our own news" from a network that would lead "a brutal, vicious attack on the opposition."...

It was NEVER about news, and was formed as a propaganda network.

While I don’t disagree, there’s also the fact that it made them a ton of cash. It always all about the Money in America.

Indirectly, yes.

Even though Fox has been a profit maker in the last years, it was not when it was founded. and profits were not a part of the plan or a result that was going to matter in terms of keeping it on the air or not. Its value was seen as a propaganda and misinformation arm, that they would sink money in to, in the same way they would pay lobbyist. fund dark money groups or donate to campaigns.

The right realized early on that the agenda they pushed was often best advocated for by very unethical people (Trump, Nixon, etc) and that they needed to be able to keep those people in power despite their foibles & criminality. That is the same reasoning a lot of evangelicals give for their support of Trump. That 'because he is so unethical, he can do the things they would not do, to get them wins'.
