He'll probably die in prison

Reflecting on Donald Trump's expected trip to Atlanta where he will be fingerprinted and have a mugshot taken as he is booked on racketeering charges, conservative attorney George Conway painted a portrait of a grim future for the former president.

Conway, whose estranged wife Kellyanne worked as a White House adviser to Trump, predicted the former president stands no chance of avoiding jail where he will likely end his days.

Touching on the Republican Party debate on Wednesday night, Conway began, "They're all going to end up nominating a candidate who, you know, will maybe be a convicted felon, will probably die in prison, and was found by a federal district court to be a rapist. It's crazy.

"I mean, essentially, he has been playing Russian roulette with the law and has loaded every single chamber," Conway explained. "He's not going to make it through all of this.

Trump is under a lot of pressure. That's not healthy for a man his age. Especially one in his physical shape.

I doubt he gets much sleep these nights, and sleep deprivation can be a killer at his age, and can also lead to senility, and that runs in his family.

Both his parents had it when they weren't much older than him.

He may die before he ever gets to trial. Hopefully not of course, but he is up against a lot, and you will see him start breaking down mentally, physically, and financially the closer he gets to trial.

If we put a former president in prison,

even a complete irredeemable asshole like Donald Trump,

we'll look like a banana republic in the eyes of the world.

They're the only ones who ever do that.

Regardless of what the typical American xenophobe believes,

it actually matters how we look in the eyes of the world.

I'll take house arrest at Mar A Logo and be grateful for his getting that.

My fear is that the hand picked SCOTUS is ready to reverse any convictions
which,
requiring 12-0 jury votes,
will be hard enough to get as it is.

No, we won’t.

Shhhh! You're scaring all of Pedo Don's traitors, wannabe murderers and assorted dumbasses.

I doubt Trump will be in an actual prison, but there's a good chance he may living in Georgia for the rest of his life. LOL

Notice Trump fired another top lawyer. Why? Because Trump doesn't like being told the truth. He wants to hear what he wants to hear. He should plead insanity because he clearly is insane.

Trump replaces lawyer on team hours before surrender at Georgia jail – reports
Criminal defense lawyer Steve Sadow is reportedly going to replace Trump’s existing lawyer, Drew Findling

While former president Donald Trump was preparing to surrender at an Atlanta jail on Thursday, he was apparently also reconsidering his legal defense team.

Just hours before Trump is supposed to turn himself in, reports broke that he had shaken up his team. Criminal defense lawyer Steve Sadow is reportedly going to replace Trump’s existing lawyer, Drew Findling, according to the New York Times....

...In a statement to ABC News, Sadow said: “I have been retained to represent President Trump in the Fulton county, Georgia case. The president should never have been indicted. He is innocent of all the charges brought against him. We look forward to the case being dismissed or, if necessary, an unbiased, open minded jury finding the president not guilty. Prosecutions intended to advance or serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents of the president have no place in our justice system.”

Interesting, I wonder why the change.

Another one of many areas of disagreement, I guess.
Was France considered a banana republic? Did you ever hear that charge leveled against them? Other industrialized nations jail their corrupt leaders after a trial and a guilty verdict. The world didn’t condemn them. They won’t condemn us.

Agreed. In fact, political stability would enhance our credit rating.

I’m thinking the same, he saw the evidence and told him he should seek a deal ;)
Very likely true.

Most of the Republican candidates whined about the "weaponization of the DOJ", but what they didn't do was claim Trump is innocent of the charges.

I care about expediency more than vengeance.
I want that asshole out of the way, and I'll be happy with that.

I'm not naïve enough to believe that all people are "created equal"
since nearly 77 years on this planet has shown me otherwise...and quite plainly.
True believerism is for other people.

Also, Trump didn't murder anybody to my knowledge.

Most of his crimes were committed because an extremely stupid American electorate
put him in place to commit them.

They're the ones against whom I bear the most hostility.

Created equal in the eyes of God and the law....although most MAGAts believe Trump is above the law.

Clearly there are a lot of smart, educated and mature people balanced out by a lot of ignorant dumbasses. Ego, not equal in ability, intelligence, bravery, etc, etc, etc.

The standard IQ Bell Curve bears this out.

Yes, I agree that we should strive to all be equal in the eyes of just and fair laws.

My disconnect is the way way people tend to blame politicians more than the people who voted for them.
I've always had a hard time understanding that.

It is not an area of disagreement.

Many non Banana Republic countries apply the rule of law to ALL.

You can argue a Banana Republic would be the one that creates a class of individuals who are above the law while making everyone else submit to it.

I would prefer to live in a country where if you and Trump do the exact same crimes in the exact same manner, you both get treated the exact same before the law. I feel the banana republic is the one that punishes you harshly while letting the influential guy off light. That too me is pure BS.

Agreed the voters should accept part of the blame, but let's be honest; those on the backside of the IQ and education bell curves are often manipulated by unscrupulous people on the high side of those curves.

Last night's debate was evidence of this: the bullshit being slung and what was not said. Example; resolving immigration issues. No one discussed immigration reform or work visas. All pushed the standard bullshit of "the wall" and deporting all illegals. Most on that stage knew such efforts would not solve the problem and that the economic impact of mass deportation would be very negative for most Americans. They were manipulating because they were not offering realistic, albeit unpopular, solutions to the problem.

No one is above the law, all should be treated equal under the law, that is what the phrase means. We all should receive equal treatment under the law, and it is Trump and all his co conspiratorial fault, and why prosecuting them to the full extent of the law is important. If they don’t face the consequences it will embolden others to do the same.
