Mott the Hoople
Sweet Jane
As DNA is composed of the four base pairs, adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine, then the answer must be number 3.
You sure it’s not #2?

Yes I stand corrected.You sure it’s not #2?
Without reading the thread yet, that's what I thought. Think of the right weight as a rope tied to the ceiling. It's just an anchor.Actually this caused me to change my mind.
The scale in the drawing would read 100N.

your answer was correct but your reasoning only eliminates #1 and #4. Why is 2 wrong?Yes I stand corrected.

Your approach of process of elimination is the correct one. #2 can be eliminated because in DNA base pairings adenine only pairs thymine and cytosine only pairs with guanine.I don't know the proportions of base pairs in DNA, without looking it up. Anyway surely it must vary according to coding.

Right, I knew that one time when I did some biochemistry as part of my degree.Your approach of process of elimination is the correct one. #2 can be eliminated because in DNA base pairings adenine only pairs thymine and cytosine only pairs with guanine.
I chair the examination committee of my accredited professional certification association. We develop the examination blueprint and the questions. We’re very careful to structure multiple choice questions so that you can’t arrive at the correct answer by the process of elimination.Right, I knew that one time when I did some biochemistry as part of my degree.

Neither 100 N is moving.

I think you've got it...and Moon seems to say it is so.
Damn...there was a time when I would get something like that.
Getting old is a bitch.
That doesn't mean anything to me Mott.
However the sum of the forces = 0. The same as if the scale were attached to the table.
Runeatic takes a dump!LMFAO
To think, you wanted to debate physics...with me.
Correct, but the sum of the vectors would be zero. No, because then you have 100 N force applied to the spring. The scale would read 100 N force.
E=MC/2
Actually that should read E = mc[SUP]2[/SUP]
