Today marks the 78th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. More people were killed in the firebombing of Tokyo, but August 6th, 1945 was the first offensive use of an atomic weapon.

Japan on Sunday marked the 78th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing on Hiroshima, where its mayor urged the abolition of nuclear weapons and called the Group of Seven leaders' notion of nuclear deterrence a "folly".

The day to commemorate the victims of the world's first nuclear attack comes as Russia has raised the spectre of using nuclear weapons in its war with Ukraine.

Surprisingly, nuclear weapons have reduced the amount of war we've seen since their introduction. Without them, a World War 3 would likely already have happened. The specter of nuclear destruction of one's own country has induced a reluctance for major powers to go to war with one another.

A red herring. There was nothing holding Biden to that schedule any more than there was in him, say, ending border wall construction, or any of dozens of other actions Trump took. Instead, it's an admission that Biden totally fucked up and those that like Biden need an excuse for.

There was an agreement in place! Congress never authorized a border wall, and that was a republican Congress. Do you need a list of all of trumps foreign policy screw ups?

And Biden does not hold to the ALREADY negotiated schedule and the Taliban see that as US deception and the US is not leaving and try to force the issue by then attacking US soldiers and you and the Trump Derps are the first to scream, 'all Biden had to do was follow the Trump pre negotiated schedule'.


Trump fucked up when he sat down with the Taliban and EXCLUDED the Afghan leadership. That lead the Afghan leadership to be ready to sprint to the door the second the US pulled out, which lead to the Taliban marching bravely in with no hesitations.

The US installed government would have done what they did if they had been in negotiations, that they were not in on the deal is irrelevant....as you likely know.

So? There was nothing stopping Biden from modifying it, and in fact he did. He sped up the withdrawal timetable.

Oh, like Biden couldn't have gone to the parties involved and discussed changes and the reasons for those changes... What? Was Biden doing some political turd polishing somewhere else that he couldn't find the time to discuss changes of that sort?
