People who are living well, enjoying a comfortable standard of living,

get to do the things that they enjoy doing,

and are trusting their government's social safety net in case something goes wrong,

feel free--are essentially free--regardless of what kind of government is directing their nation.

It could be a Divine Right Emperor. Who cares?

If you're in Vegas, eating and drinking the best that they have to offer
and generally having a blast,
you don't give a fat fuck about the government.

Consequently, if you're in a position where you have to concern yourself about your government,
your main concern should be choosing a government devoted to helping everybody live as comfortably as possible,
because any ideology that doesn't emphasize that far. far above all else
exists solely for insane people.
