The Ukraine ‘peace deal’ is proving to be a scam

I don't know about them wanting to restart a cold war, and I suspect it's not so much a matter of forgetting so much as only paying attention to the western mainstream media, which tends to omit any news that doesn't fit its narrative. This story published today on Russia's RT comes to mind:

lol as if Russia is some hapless victim of evul warmongers. You people are seriously mentally ill.

Ukraine is nothing. The US doesn't need Ukraine for anything, they are not using Ukraine to "defeat" Putin, nor do they need to. The US convinced Ukraine to get rid of all of its Nukes that it had specifically to protect itself from Russia.

We guaranteed their safety, and now we're welching on it. Not a good policy just to appease a few hippies.Russia has violated every treaty it ever made since Lenin seized power. Leopards don't change their spots.

No, Russia is too strong to simply be a victim. They fight back.

According to the Russian media hacks here, invading Crimea

Russia didn't "invade" Crimea, they allowed Crimea to rejoin Russia after Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to do so. Crimea was Russian for a lot longer than they were Ukrainian. As of now, I only know of a single angle from a western journalist who actually went to Crimea after it returned to Russia and wrote an article of her time there. That article can be seen here:

No, the U.S. did that a long time ago, when it destroyed Ukrainian stability by supporting those behind the Euromaidan coup back in 2014. A good article on that:

The Imperial Empire (the Swamp) organized and funded the 2014 regime change.

Did you get shot in the head during the Gulf War and survived?

lol sure .... then a bunch of pigs with wings flew by and everybody danced. Sure thing, Ivan.

The Duran says that the Black Sea ceasefire is dead because neither the Ukrainians nor the Europeans are prepared to honor it.

The Russians are now warning that the Energy Sector cease fire is on life support because the Ukrainians/NATO has never honored it.

Last I heard, Putin was still willing to let Ukraine hold on to Odessa
Worth noting, Putin tried his best to take Odesa and failed. The people of Odesa fought and kept their freedom. Russia was pushed back across the Dnieper River, and do not seem to have the military technology to cross over a well guarded river.

most if not all of what it still holds
Putin has made clear that he wants territorial concessions that he was unable to win in the war. He wants what he calls the four Donbas Provinces, when he has only been able to capture two thirds of them. He wants to be allowed to cross the Dnieper River unopposed, when he was unable to cross it when opposed.

And what does Ukraine get in return for surrendering all their defenses? A 30 day ceasefire followed by immediate war.
