Well, it was a political move.
There is not a Bible teacher or anyone else living in the world today, who has found a secret rapture in the Bible by his own independent study of the Bible itself. These teachers come to the Bible with cut and dried theories which they have learned elsewhere, and twist and torture texts to fit the theory.
This Scofield teaching is concerned with a literal Jewish kingdom to last for a millennium. The Bible does not teach it, and the disciples who had been taught it, rejected it after Pentecost.
Jesus warned about it in Matt 16:6-12. Scofield's work was calculated to promote certain ideas.
We have to ask ourselves if Jesus ever offered or announced himself as an earthly King or claimed David's throne?
Did he ever in any way suggest he was going to set up an earthly kingdom?
He said to Pilate, "My kingdom is not of this world, if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews, but now is my kingdom not from hence." (Jn 18:36.)
They couldn't prove him guilty before Pilate of any offense against Rome.

1600 AD.. Martin Luther had lots of legit complaints about the Catholic Church, but he added that Rome was the Whore of Babylon and the Pope was the Anti-Christ... which is false teachings for anyone who studies scripture. The Church responded by telling Jesuit Priest Rebira to counter the propaganda.. He did with futurism which really didn't catch on until the Scofield Heresy revived it in 1909.

You're cherry picking verses. Every verse you listed earlier is from Revelation. If you knew as much as you think you do you would know that the book of Zechariah actually mentions the location of the heart of the one world government mentioned in Revelation. So, it can't be Jerusalem. It will actually be on the same site on the plains of Shinar, in Mesopotamia where the city of Babylon still exists. It will be the headquarters of the revived Roman Empire.
In the Book of Zechariah, a series of night visions concerning the end times occupies the first six chapters. The one recorded in Zechariah 5 gives us the answer. Zechariah describes being told in this vision to inspect a large basket with a lead cover. An angel tells him the basket contains the iniquity of the people throughout the earth. When he looks inside, he sees a woman, who the angel identifies as the symbol of their wickedness. Then two other women, each with the wings of a stork, lift the basket and begin to fly away with it. (According to Lev. 11:19 storks would be able to carry this load of wickedness without becoming defiled by it because they’re already unclean.)
“Where are they taking the basket?” Zechariah asks. “To the country of Babylon,” the angel replies, “To build a house for it.” (Literally to the plains of Shinar, the location in ancient Mesopotamia of the City of Babylon). “When it’s ready, the basket will be set there in its place.” (Zech. 5:5-11).

And you completely ignored the fact that Zechariah mentioned that the woman (the whore of Babylon) will be in the city of Babylon. The center of a revived Roman Empire. Remember how Revelation mentioned many peoples. The Jews do not fit this description. They are one people. The same people who will be persecuted by the Antichrist. Are you claiming that the Jews will persecute themselves? The same people who will be at the battle of armeghedon? Face it. You're just another Jew hater.

Are you talking about the different nationalities that fought with Titus in 70 AD.. They were Syrians and Arabs and others from Persia and the Levant who brought legions to fight under Titus and Vespasian.
Zechariah 5 is talking about Israel and destroying the Temple in Jerusalem ..
You do know that the granddaughter of Herod (Queen Berneice ) was the mistress of Titus.
