Tim Walz left National Guard Battalion 'Hanging"

“On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war,”

Tim Walz left National Guard battalion ‘hanging,’ ‘slithered out the door’ before Iraq deployment: vets
Veterans have accused Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz of “embellishing” his military career and abandoning his National Guard battalion, highlighting that the now-vice presidential pick for the Democrats never served in combat and retired from service ahead of his unit’s 2005 deployment to Iraq.

Yep when he found out his battalion was being deployed to Iraq he cut and ran and let his men go into harms way without an experienced leader. He didn't even fulfill his commitment that he had agreed to so he was demoted. Then he bragged about being a Commander Sargent Major when actually he was demoted but he never mentioned that. Can we say stolen valor.

Pesky details... There's a long list of those to be revealed in the next couple of weeks...

Another John Kerry Swift Boating.

Stolen valor indeed.

This happened in 2005, so Walz would have been 41 years old. Based on his rank, I'd assume that he'd been on the NG for quite sometime.

Is he not allowed to leave the NG to pursue other things in life?

By the way, when you sign up for the National guard, you are committing for a certain number of years and for a certain number of weeks per year for training. You can't just leave In the middle of your committed time.

What is it with Democrats Biden stole valor when he said he gave his uncle a Purple Heart but his uncle was dead and had not earned a Purple Heart. Biden lied about it for his own political gain. Stolen valor. Walz lied about his rank for political gain. Stolen valor.

Indeed.

Stolen valor was once a crime. I believe it is still a crime if financial gain is involved.

Looks like it is still a crime:

Stolen Valor Act of 2013

The 2005 law did not account for intent, so it was amended in 2013 following the Supreme Court ruling. The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 specifically makes it a crime to falsely claim military service, embellished rank, or earned awards with the intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefits.

“Embellish rank.”

Political gain is a tangible benefit.

By the way, can you sign up for the National guard, you are green to committing for a certain number of years and for a certain number of weeks per year for training. You can't just leave In the middle of your committed time.
But he did leave before his commitment was up. He committed to 6 years in order to achieve the rank of Commander Sargent Major but he cut and ran immediately after finding his battalion was heading to Iraq. So he got busted down to a lower rank but his bio lists him as a Commander Sargent Major when he isn't. Stolen valor.

Which pEarl, Toxic, the Quackter, etc. would know if *they* had ever served.

The desperate lies have begun. The MAGATs are terrified at the coming defeat of their draft-dodging felon, Donald "vets are suckers and losers" Trump.

You can...but you would be mistaken.

Can you say, "Our next vice-president?"

This is why pEarl used to ban everyone from his propaganda threads. Note the source. The actual truth:

Tim Walz, Who Spent Decades as an Enlisted Soldier, Brings Years of Work on Vets Issues to Dem Ticket

"Walz enlisted in the Army National Guard in Nebraska in 1981 and retired honorably in 2005 as the top enlisted soldier for 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery Regiment, in the Minnesota National Guard, according to a copy of his records provided by the Minnesota Guard. He reached the rank of command sergeant major and served in that role, but he officially retired as a master sergeant for benefits purposes because he didn't finish a required training course, according to the records and a statement from the Minnesota Guard."

Can you say, "Our next vice-president?"
So he is going to falsely claim to be VP. Well he does have a history of falsely fluffing his bio :dunno:

It is stolen valor to claim a rank you aren't. Walz bio says he is a retired Commander Sargent Major when he is not . He is a retired Sargent Major.

Walz, 60, wrapped his military career just in time for him to launch his political career the following year, successfully running for Congress in 2006.
