Open carry in public is NOT exercising good judgement. If you're in a grocery store you cannot possibly be employing situational awareness 100% of the time.
As such, any criminal who wants your gun, will have your gun. Grocery stores make it fairly easy because a can of tomatoes across the back of your head will either knock you out, or stun you long enough for virtually anyone to simply take your gun.

The element of surprise is the most deadly weapon in any confrontation.

I can understand certain people carrying a weapon (I have several friends who have one on them at all times...unnecessarily) if they frequent dangerous areas for work, etc.. To simply carry one to compensate for other psychological shortcomings is dangerous. In many cases, it's just showing off. It gives me a good laugh when I see it.

And I reiterate...IF I wanted the gun, I would have it.

Nope. I'm quite sure you're wrong, but my original point was my amusement at those who carry openly simply because it is their right to do so. They really don't know how vulnerable they are. But MAGAmorons aren't typically the sharpest tools in the shed.

In fact, there was an incident outside of a bar years ago where someone had a shiny new gun they were displaying proudly, when a thug came up to him waving his own gun.

Guess which one left with both guns?

Here's just one incident that illustrates exactly what I'm trying to get across to you.

anecdotal evidence aside...........I never said that it doesn't happen, but you believe you know that NOBODY is capable of it......which just isn't true.

anyway, i'm not going to bother to help you change your mind, you're obviously dead set on believing that you're 100% correct. I encourage you to start taking guns you see, though, and see how well it works out for you.

I'd rather just point and laugh. There are hundreds of thousands of people in this nation that aren't qualified to open/concealed carry, but they still do. These are the majority of people you see strutting around in supermarkets with guns on their hips.
Hell...my buddies bring concealed guns to pool league, and I think they're idiots for doing so.

I bought groceries. Just like I’ve been doing for 50 years or more.

Amazing that I’ve never needed a gun to fend off those thugs who wanted to steal my cantaloupe!

hypothetically, if you're out in public like a grocery store, and someone starts shooting it up, what are you going to do? I can only assume that you'll run away like all of the other people who don't have a gun........or are you going to use your super stealth ninja skills and hit them in the back of the head with a soup can and take away their gun?

I find it hilarious that your position is that all criminals go in to commit a crime after having meticulously planned walking through the entire store, just to make sure that there is nobody else in there with a gun, add a contingency that they will then kill the stupid gun carrier, take that gun, and doubly shoot up the store.............
