Was FDR a fascist?

Ew, I hope not. I would prefer my National Collaborativism to have a shot before the Democratic communists force us into some sort of abhorrent totalitarian regime.

There is nothing wrong with authority per se, but the Democratic Party wants a totalitarianism that I am opposed to ideologically and rationally.

Yes your totalitarianism would be utopian, while their totalitarianism would be abhorrent.

And yes I'm just busting your balls. I do think your fascination with fascism goes a bit far sometimes though.

My totalitarianism is the realisation that democracy has served its use and it is time for society to move past the inequalities that limit the evolution of the system. An authoritarian government can preserve both liberties and State in a manner that democracy cannot.

As someone that has read my work in progress, I would have hoped that you would have a better understanding of the system-- it is no mere fascination with fascism (or at least no more than your fascination with civil liberty- a fascination I would say we shared), but an elaboration and improvement on a system largely overlooked because of bad press.

It certainly has no reason to have bad press, oh no.

Franco, Mussoloni, and Hitler were the great leaders of our time.

Your dream of income redistribution is exactly on par with Hillary. The Correct Opinion is to embrace Capitalism, and shoot anyone who resists! :p

Ur addressment was stoopid.

Mussoloni created and defined fascism. It died with him. It is now deader than monarchism (there are a few monarchist states around the globe. There are no fascist states, excluding America.) Give up.

Just like democracy died with the Greeks, right? Oh, until people realised it would work.

Exactly. I agree with that statement totally. Communism would be the perfect system of government the world has ever known if it could ever be possibly implemented.

However, Fascism is actually possible without the atrocities that "fascists" have forever bound it to....communism, on the other hand, would be impossible to actually implement.

Communism is not perfect. People need religious freedom.

And fascism doesn't screw anyone over? At least in a capitalist society people can afford toilet paper.

Um, the least of fascism's problems is the economy...fascist economies tend to rather well, actually. Again, it is the stigma of fascism-- given to it by false fascists that ruined it for everyone-- that is its greatest obstacle.

I think you need to take a realistic view of your goals. Maybe you can convince California or New York, but the Southern Man would rather wipe his ass with an oak leaf as a free man that with a silk handkerchief under tyranny. And as the Cradle of Freedom The South will continue to guide the US on its proper path.

No. It is the hierarchical totalitarianism, elitism and tendency toward merit-negating cronyism which is it's problem. Of course many prefer the stability and domination power of evil over the chaos and relative equality of fairness and liberty. It sucks that so many people choose evil nowadays.

You are nuts. FDR's fascist NRA prolonged the depression by ensuring instability in the markets. It was not until after it was taken down by the Supremes that the economy was able to repair.

He was a WW president...the line had to be crossed...he also brought us out of the depression era...SS was a catch all retirement so no one would fall thru the cracks again! He was a true conservative democrat...one of the last before socialist took over the party!
FDR was a socialist SOB.

Child of the corn?

I don't get it, unless you're talking about my corn cob pipe?

The top marginal tax rate was in the 90% neighborhood at one point. What are you disagreeing with here? It is now in the neighborhood of 33%.

That's good, not bad.
The top marginal rate for 2007 is 35%.
