The dems in the senate have no majority once Lieberman votes pro war. A couple of dems are out sick I think. and Lieberman is technically an independent ?

It shouldn't, I guess, but the depth of Dem ignorance about their own party and our government continually amazes me...

The Democratic Caucus (51 members) is in the majority. Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman caucus with the Democrats.

So the situation is this: Dems led the netroots (DailyKos, DemocraticUnderground, Moveon.org, CodePink, etc,) on to expect a Bush/Cheney impeachment & an immediate pullout of US troops from Iraq, but after winning majorities in bouth Houses of Congress, the Jackass Party didn't have enough votes to keep their pledges...
