What makes a man gay?

Of course men have lied about being straight, being gay has been frowned upon and is actually illegal in many countries. In some muslum countries it is a death sentence, do you think they admit to being gay there? It is only in countries that have grown to accept the abnormality that you get an idea of its numbers. I use the word abnormality not as derogative just different. I cannot imagine a straight person simply deciding to be gay and do not believe it possible. You may have a gay person denying their condition and finally giving in and coming out and admitting it but nobody just decides to be gay.

Agreed. Some cultures have a social stigma about gays. Some, like the Euros and the US in the past, even criminalized being gay.

No, not that simple. Everyone has male and female hormones and there are lots of them. Estrogen is the biggie for females and testosterone for males but both men and women have and produce both of them. There is also estradiol, estrone, estriol, progesterone, as well as a host of others that are thought to play little role in sexual desires. (cortisol, insulin, growth hormones, thyroid hormones, adrenaline). Your Endocrine system controls the balance of all these hormones and this balance and your genetics are what play a role in homosexuality. It is not something that someone just decides to be.

So you don't think there are some people that pretend to be gay because of peer pressure, they have gay friends and are talked into it?

They want to fit in and be one of the crowd?

It's possible, but they'd have to be weak-willed, immature and not-to-bright. You know, like Trumpers and white nationalists.

Since we have established that being gay is not related to sex the sex part is out.

To be gay you need to be attracted to the same sex.

Most gays are not attracted to the same sex they act that way through coercion, peer pressure, or simply wanting a different lifestyle.

It's estimated that 2-4% of the population is gay but recently that number has doubled.

Percentage of LGBTQ adults in U.S. has doubled over past decade, Gallup finds

https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out...ults-us-doubled-decade-gallup-finds-rcna16556

In no way would that double on it's own in the span of ten years.

Obviously something else is going on.

Yes, a lack 'readin', 'rightin' and 'rithmatic skills by JPP members. :D

First, it helps to understand what the acronym LGBTQ means.

Second, it helps to read the article completely.

Lastly, it helps to be able to do the math.

From the link: "Overall, 4 percent of U.S. adults identify as bisexual, compared to 1 percent who identify as lesbian, 1.5 percent as gay, 0.7 percent as transgender and 0.3 percent as other. Heterosexuals comprised 86.3 percent of total respondents, and 6.6 percent did not offer an opinion.

Generation Z adults are the most likely to identify as bisexual, at 15 percent overall, compared to 6 percent of millennials and less than 2 percent of Generation X, baby boomers and traditionalists.
"

What you are also failing to see isn't that people are being pressured to be gay, but that they are no longer being as pressured to be straight.

Bi sexual is gay.

If you are attracted to the same sex that makes you gay right?

My stats were accurate.

If not then tell us what makes a person gay which was my question in the OP.

Would that work for you? Is that what happened to make you upset about gays? Were you pressured into becoming agy?

Ummm...no it isn't but you seem a little clouded on the issue, Tinker. Is it due to your peach-flavored beverages?

Yes, but that's not what bi means...at least in America. What does it mean in Mother Russia?

Your stats? Interesting claim, Tink.

Scroll up, Tink. Read your own thread.

If a man is attracted to a man he is gay, also being attracted to a woman is irrelevant to that fact.

Try flipping that around, Tink. "If a man is attracted to a woman he is straight, also being attracted to a man is irrelevant to that fact."

If a man is attracted to only women, he is straight.

If a man is attracted only to men, he is gay.

If a man is attracted to both men and women, he is bisexual.

He would still be gay no matter what keyword you want to use.

Bisexual includes gay.

Constitutional law and polling.

In history I focused on American history specifically civil rights and war.

Polling as in statistics or polling places as in voting booths?

Wars are the most interesting parts.

Polling requires both.

You need to know statistics to understand the results from the polling booth such as exit polls.

You need to translate that data to nationwide results.

Generally if I can poll at least 1500 people I can tell you how the whole nation thinks on any given issue.

Of course it's not a sure thing but we can get the results with a 95% confidence rate at least, generally you want 96 or 97 percent and any higher is simply impossible due to the randomness of polling.

Are the 1500 from across the nation or one spot like Pahokee, FL or Lower Peach Tree, AL? Do you ask factual questions like "Which party are you registered?" or "Which party did you vote for?" or opinion questions like "What do you think of Democrat scumbags?"
