Who were you proud to vote for?

Moving past the "I voted for Bush only because he was a tad better that Gore/Kerry nonsense, who was the last presidential candidate of your party that you actaully were proud to vote for? Republicans, if Bush is embarrassing, who were you actually proud to personally vote for? Dole? Poppy Bush? Or, McCain this time around?

Me, I was proud and quite happy to vote for Gore, I'll be proud to vote for Obama, I was actually quite happy to vote for clinton twice. I wasn't proud of my vote for Kerry (he sucked, and I wanted Dean), nor was I proud of my vote for Poppy in 1988.

A tee shirt I've seen twice now IN GEORGIA .. worn by white people.

"He's Black, and I'm Proud" .. beneath the picture of Obama.

I thought .. somebody pinch me.

LOL? Really? I want one. Maybe I'll get for a few of my friends.

I generally don't hold my nose & vote; I was somewhat proud to vote for Dukakis, as well as Clinton both times. I was definitely proud to vote for Gore.

I can't say I was 'proud' of the Kerry vote on its own, but given the choice, which may as well have been non-existent, I didn't feel terrible about it.

Whoa, Nelly! Let's not get carried away. I refuse to get caught up in Obama worhship! He's not my prefered candidate, but come November, I think I'll gladly and proudly vote for him.

I was just wondering if repubilicans in recent history have every actually proudly voted FOR one of their candidates. Or, whether it's always a vote AGAINST someone; a treasonous Dem, against "socialism", against the evil doers.

1992 was the first time I voted, so other than Dukakis, I feel or felt, the same way on each of these.

I've changed a lot during the Bush years though. I sure would still be proud to vote for Al gore though! And I can't say I'm going to be ashamed to vote for Obama. He's not Edwards, and I'm still disappointed, but he's OK, and maybe he'll turn out better than OK, and there is no way I'm immune to the historic implications here either.

You live in Atlanta, which is NOT representative of the rest of the state. You know the saying - there's Atlanta and then there's the REAL Georgia.

Proud to vote for someone ? Perhaps when I voted for Perot. Perhaps.
Mostly on the National level is is just voting against the greater evil.

I might be proud to vote for Gore is he was running this time.

Well, the thing that came to my mind are all the Bush voters who said they only voted for Bush because Gore and Kerry were socialists, or whatever. And they keep saying if Hillary were the nominee, it would drive the GOP base out to vote in droves against her.

This line of logic always interested me. Because, I can barely ever think of a time I voted for someone, simply because I hated the other gal/guy more. Maybe its a republican thing: voting against something, more than voting for something. who knows.

Here you have a Democrat telling you he votes against the greater evil and you are saying its a Republican thing?

What was the whole Democrat thing in 2004, ABB? Anyone But Bush? If that doesn't define voting against someone and not voting for someone then I don't know what does.

I WON'T vote for the carpet munching lesb... I mean carpet bagger from Arkansas.

I can't vote for McCain. He makes me want to puke, the douchebag.

Maybe Obama, but he seems long on promises and short on reality.

I might have to go third party, in which case it will vote for the Communist party candidate.

shhhhhh.... ur not supposed to point out his blatant hypocricy. It tends to ruin his little fantasy world.

I was proud to vote for Walter Baker, the Progressive Conservative Party Whip in Ottawa. OK, that was Canada. I can't vote here yet.
