I care because a very small portion is used to help the poor, especially the mega churches, it is obscene and very unJesus. I had a problem with it when I was active in the church. I saw a lot of money go to the support of the building and the administrators and very little was left for the ministry of the word.
 
We've had quite a few responses here, but I haven't seen anything compelling in terms of why we trust the church today, and trust that the early church handed down the words of the Bible to us faithfully & without an agenda.

I just don't think it's possible that they did. I think there are a lot of great messages in the Bible, and there is a lot that it can contribute to our lives. But I think that we fall short as a reasoning species on questioning the Bible and its origins, and taking a hard, uncompromising look at our own faith. The best I've ever gotten on why people trust that the Bible is the word of God is that it says so.

So you base what you believe on what you saw in one church?

You claim what the "church" does with the money given to it voluntarily by those doing the giving is used very little for the ministry of the Word. Why don't you tell me just how much of my church's budget goes to the building/administrators and just how much goes to ministry programs.

Get it from Rana. She's already indicated that churches use the money given to them incorrectly. To make such a statement, she would have to already have those numbers.
