According to the Mormon church once baptised you cannot leave the church...

Marco Rubio was baptised in the Mormon Church. What are the chances of a double mormon ticket?

First, link up the "rule" on an official Mormon website. Just saying, "According to the Mormon Church"... doesn't make it real.

(There is no "Mormon" church, BTW, they are called Latter Day Saints in official channels).

LOL. I know many, many "ex" Mormons. This is just stupid religious bigotry. You make up whatever you want and then expect us all to believe it.

Rubio is a practicing Catholic who converted to Catholicism at 11 years old.

Now, tell me again how liberals actually will learn about something before spouting stupid.

I do not agree with what will happen with Rubio, but I can tell you that one of two things will happen...

Unless Romney is desperate or dumb he will not chose him as VP.

If Romney does chose him, this and several other issues will harm the ticket.

Rubio will not be the Vice President of the Unites States any more than Sara Palin will be...

Looks like Jarod is going full retard today.

Why do you say that Jarod? I really don't know much about Rubia at all...is he a stupid bimbo too?

Well, now he is Catholic, and they do believe that once you are Catholic, you are always Catholic.

The LDS do practice that once a family is "sealed", they are together, forever.

You also didn't link to this. And you are talking about a Marriage ceremony. When two people choose to be sealed rather than the more secular marriage (this could not happen with my brother, while he married an LDS chick he was not LDS himself) they are married forever, they are "Sealed" for eternity.

This is absolutely not the same thing as a kid being "baptized" into the religion. Shoot, that doesn't even net you a ticket into the Temple.

The idea that they "can't" convert is preposterous.

Holy shit Sealed for eternity with someone! I am breaking out in hives just thinking about it. That is way too much of a commitment for me.

It is for most Mormons too. In my experience most of them choose a simple marriage, not a "Sealing". Even those where both participants are Mormons.

I agree that the idea that they "can't" convert is preposterous, but several of my Mormon friends have told me it is so!

To be sealed they have to become Temple LDS, the majority of the LDS don't go through the hoops to become Temple Mormons. It is a long process and involves baptizing all your dead relatives. You must tithe, do your mission and be baptized in the Temple, but the reward is you are sealed to your family and get to be together forever, god and goddess, and the goddess gets to make spiritual babies or eternity! Doesn't that sound fun, Darla!

I didn't link to what?

Your brother, if not LDS can't be sealed, according to my understanding. They can be together forever, but they don't get to be god nd goddess.

Mormons are perfectly free to leave the church at any time. I've known several people who wrote letters asking that their name be removed from church records, and their request was honored. So, as usual, Jarod, you have no idea what you're talking about.

It is true that they also teach that families are sealed for eternity. However, if someone leaves the Mormon church, they are no longer a Mormon.

It is like Being Catholic, you can convert, but the church still sees you as part of the fold and they believe God will judge you accordingly.
