I appreciate the kind words, but I'm not that smart and don't know that much. I'm just good at google.
You must be very good at google then.

LOL I used to be one. They're composed mostly of middle class small business men and merchants who are almost utterly lacking in imagination or empathy and pretty much can only see the world from their point of view. If the Chamber of commerce had it's way any attorney who ever litigated a civil suit would be summarily executed and they would have a maximum wage of $0.10/day so that no employee could earn more than that. As a networking clique it's a pretty good community organization to belong too if you enjoy being active in community affairs and development but their typical member usually has pretty reactionary political views.
Dear little Super, I confess, I chuckled!
When Ford did it stimulated the eonomy. He doubed wages, no ill effects. This is the complaint made by corporations and their supporters every time there is talk of raising the minimum wage, but I have never seen the ill effects come to pass that they lament about. If you have proof to the contrary, I would really like to review it.

I feel like you're not listening. What do you want, a picture of a place where a business no longer is? It didn't make the news, it was a small business.Show me
Does that mean my employer will be forced to adjust my pay? After all if you raise minimum wage to that, prices will go up and if I do not receive the same amount of hike they do I am screwed, it will be like starting at the bottom rung again. Low skilled workers will get a huge raise, and higher skilled workers like myself will be screwed.

that actually made me chuckle...
Yes it must be weird for you to witness a man show some humility - and one that has far fewer things than you do to be humble about!
I meant it was one business, small businesses fail all the time, especially within the first five years. I would need to see the proof of the bigger impact or did another business step in and succeed where they failed.
Why $9? That's not going to get people out of poverty. And you said it was a dog whistle to bring up economics so if economics aren't an issue why not go with something closer to a living wage amount of $15 or $20?
That's because corporations have their boards stacked with good ole boy buddies instead of people who represent the stock holders. That needs to change.I think one should be required, some CEO's are paid far too much, it is ridiculous and as a stockholder I complain!
Because, as stated earlier, we want to minimize any negative impact that might arise as a result of raising the minimum wage.
So economics are an issue now? So when I bring up economics it's a dog whistle. But if you or someone else brings it up it's all good. Got it.
So did Neal Armstrong.or you grew up in Ohio and went to USC
As opposed to drawing the conclusion based on a rational hypothesis, there were costs associated with a business, due to a raise in those costs the business failed. Now what cost do we KNOW went up? I'd say the burden of proof would lie with you to prove it wasn't the wage increase that did it, since I don't know of anything else. But then that would imply that I cared whether or not you believed me. You asked for an example of a failure, I provided one. Now demonstrate to me how the 1.5 dollar/hour pay jump is going to make everything better and not mess with the large number of businesses who employ unskilled workers.
So did Neal Armstrong.
